I'm slowly turning into a tree...

I am Groot.

(Thanks +John Ladner for the better joke that I should have thought of.)

So one of the sections of Reddit is such that you can submit a photo of yourself and, if someone is up to it, they'll draw you (or their interpretation of you) and post it.  I gave it a shot with the photo below, and I love this drawing that someone returned to me!  So cute!  :D

On Sunday, +Guy Evans and I (along with our friends +Sarah Sadler and Ben) participated in an event called Columbus Challenge. It was a scavenger hunt throughout downtown Columbus, and it was a blast! I was expecting to pass out from heat exhaustion by the end, though - it was hot. We placed 34 out of about 90 groups, which we were pretty pleased about. Our goofy photo proof that we did what we were supposed to is below:

Tonight's dinner, served on plates generously provided by +Jeff Devore.  Thanks again, Jeff!

+Guy Evans made the one with the applesauce beard, and mine is the one with a bean hairdo.  Super cute.  :D

If you know someone who needs a Cameo, this site has a pretty nice deal going on right now.

Massdrop helps people buy together as a group to get awesome prices for things they want. The bigger the group, the better the price!

So I know I have an existing ding in my car door. Going to lunch, I see a huge deep gouge there. As I stare at it and open the door to get in, I realize it's very messy in there too. Oh, and the upholstery is now cloth. Because it's the OTHER black Prius. Oops.

I was taken here by someone else, and was a little skeptical when we arrived. This place is tiny and doesn't look like much from the outside. It was surprisingly great, though! It feels like a micro-diner (being obviously tiny on the inside as well), but it wasn't busy when we got there. The menu is pretty sparse, but what they serve is served quick and well. The burgers are like what I imagine White Castle was before it became a huge chain where quality was cut to save costs and time. The little sliders come in singles and doubles, with or without cheese, and totally covered in grilled onions. They don't serve fries (which I was hoping for), but chips are an acceptable substitute. And the price was in line with what you might get at a chain fast food joint. It's definitely worth a try!

This store is so beautifully decorated that it feels like a movie set. The cakes are a mile high, all the baked goods shimmer with a glittery dusting, huge jars of jelly beans and gumballs are scattered throughout. I dropped in strictly to try a piece of cake. I chose the Millionaire Cake - chocolaty and caramely, with chunks of shortbread cookies stuck in there. The size of the slice was daunting, but it was well-balanced with the sweetness not overwhelming and the frosting not overly heavy. If we had more time, I would have loved to get the seat in front of the window into the cake decorating room so I could marvel at how these treats get assembled. Next time!

Such a fun experience! I've done a few of these types of events in the past (in another city), but this one really felt the most refined. It wasn't simply a room (or couple rooms) with a series of puzzles - it was as if you were in a few rooms of a museum, with plenty of touches added to build the feeling of being somewhere other than an escape room. Another difference from other rooms I've done elsewhere is that the assistant isn't with you as you try to figure out how to escape. Kelly, in our case (who was fantastic!), could see what we were doing via security cameras in the room, and could communicate with us either via the timekeeping monitor, or the walkie=talkie we were given when we began. The puzzles were fun, and satisfying to complete. We made it out of the room without using any hints, and with minutes to spare. I would definitely go back to try another one of their rooms in the future.

This is a fantastic pizza place! Expect to be there for some time (especially if they're busy) but it's worth the wait. The stuffed pizzas are amazing - deep slices with a thick layer of cheese and the perfect amount of sauce on top. Delicious.
