I wouldn't describe myself as a perfectionist, as I think the trait is too often seen as a negative aspect of a person's character. So often people simply do to be done, not to do well. There is no love, no commitment to their work. Little care is given to the quality of a product, and revisions are dismissed with a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I'm of the opinion that this is the wrong way of looking at things. There is not a simple binary status for all things, we cannot class everything as either "broken" or "working". All things are "designed", and thus all things can be improved. It's in that space that the best products are crafted.
I've always avoided directly crediting myself in things I've made, because it's rare that I feel confident in my work.
With that said, I take extreme care when designing things. The little things, which won't be noticed by most anyone but would eat away at me regardless. Whilst I may have my own misgivings towards Apple, I do think they're one of few companies that truly takes pride in everything they do.
