A map that shows when two Spotify users are simultaneously listening to the same song, complete with elegant design.
Serendipity. By Kyle McDonald in residence at Spotify. Every second, a few people hit "play" on the same track at the same time. The tracks shown here were recorded over one hour of one day.

I look forward to this becoming the most-funded Kickstarter of all time.

This is frustrating. Ever since the Palm Pre, I've wanted wireless charging to catch on.

I imagine that most of you reading this are already aware of how much the cable monopolies are threatening #netneutrality , but for anyone who isn't, this clip from John Oliver lays out perfectly what's at stake, and why we're even talking about this right now.

An interesting video on the current state of America's nuclear stockpile. I'm surprised he didn't mention Stuxnet, the virus that helped delay Iran's creation of nuclear bombs, or the fact that for at least 20 years the password for our nuclear silos was eight consecutive zeros.

Normally I'd only want to use vanilla Android, but LG has done some fantastic work in the past year. Kudos to the design team over at LG, no more gradients!

I wouldn't describe myself as a perfectionist, as I think the trait is too often seen as a negative aspect of a person's character. So often people simply do to be done, not to do well. There is no love, no commitment to their work. Little care is given to the quality of a product, and revisions are dismissed with a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I'm of the opinion that this is the wrong way of looking at things. There is not a simple binary status for all things, we cannot class everything as either "broken" or "working". All things are "designed", and thus all things can be improved. It's in that space that the best products are crafted.

I've always avoided directly crediting myself in things I've made, because it's rare that I feel confident in my work.

With that said, I take extreme care when designing things. The little things, which won't be noticed by most anyone but would eat away at me regardless. Whilst I may have my own misgivings towards Apple, I do think they're one of few companies that truly takes pride in everything they do.

A depressing future instigated by our unwillingness to discuss that very future.
