If anyone is not familiar with Thich Nhat Hanh, I would recommend a look-see! His teachings are applicable to most all lineages, and he has a uniquely insightful means of communication. Here's a tidbit:

The mind can go
in a thousand directions,
but on this beautiful path,
I walk in peace.
With each step,
a gentle wind blow.
With each step,
a flower blooms. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Thanks all!

Original Poetry & Prose  -

Hi, everyone!
I'm a longtime writer and philosopher, and stumbled across this community on a fluke. I think it's a great idea! Here's a newly-written piece of mine.

Paralyzed

I wanted so badly to
Swoop you up, take you
Anywhere away from here.
Did you want to go?
I couldn't tell, your sheer
Veil obscuring more than
Your face to me.
Who are you?
I was lifted from the water,
My legs a crumpled heap
Rising behind me.
I was lifted by an angel
I did not know,
Did not need to know
To fly alongside.
One more obscuration,
As our hands touch,
Her face kneeling over me
As we drift along with
Clouds;
Her skin belies mine rough,
God's quiet homage to
Cirrus pillows, to
Waves, not yet crested.
Let go. I have a ways
Yet to go.
So let me go.

Roma is weird! It's a great hole-in-the-wall attraction for artists and coffee-addicts (their "$1 Rent" makes it perfect for us in this category). A down-to-earth atmosphere with outdoor patio seating makes it a wonderful spot to sit, read, people-watch, and drink or eat. Their coffee and espresso drinks are good, but no other establishment on the Hill has the quality of bagel sandwiches you can find at Roma. Highly recommended.
