Nanomaterials are tiny particles companies include in food products for a wide range of reasons. I did a story on what they are and whether or not they endanger human health. Check it out:

One more story from my Nigeria trip (with stunning photos by Cameron Barnes.) This Thanksgiving Eve, take a second to consider the struggles of the people of the slums of Lagos, who are fighting just to keep the government from demolishing their makeshift homes perched among massive towers of rotting garbage. This is probably the most heart-wrenching and shocking story I covered while I was in Africa..

I just broke a pretty massive investigation into employees of the Cincinnati IRS field office's already scandal-ridden Tax Exempt & Government Entities division likely violating the Hatch Act repeatedly and allegedly making hiring decisions based on political considerations. This time, DEMOCRATS got the short end of the stick. Check it out:
Emails obtained by IBTimes reveal that a group of employees at Cincinnati’s beleaguered IRS field office who called themselves the "Neanderthals" likely violated federal law by sending politically charged emails using agency resources, according to two employment lawyers.

Forgot to post this on Saturday. I took an in-depth look at the prospects for marijuana legalization on the first 4/20 since Colorado and Washington legalized recreational use:

So the whole Amazon Prime Air drone delivery service thing isn't quite as shocking when you consider the fact that Chinese companies have had similar initiatives in place for months and Amazon won't be able to start making drone deliveries til 2015 at the earliest..

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (aka TPP) is a far-reaching agreement being negotiated by corporations (not governments) as we speak that seeks to overhaul copyright law, intellectual property rights, Internet freedom, etc., for much of the world. It's full of frightening things, five of which I wrote about after WikiLeaks leaked the IP chapter of the agreement earlier today:

Check out my story on new insights into the intelligence-sharing missteps that contributed to law enforcement agencies being unable to stop the Boston Marathon bombings:
A 2010 report reveals information-sharing shortfalls that may have contributed to intelligence about the marathon bombings going unheeded.

The 'Monsanto Protection Act' lives again, this time as an amendment to the Farm Bill.
An amendment to the 2013 Farm Bill passed by the House's Agriculture Committee would revoke the ability of states to pass GMO-labeling laws, food advocates warn.

It's been six months since Hurricane Sandy, so here's a short article by me and a compilation of exclusive photos taken across lower Manhattan comparing the immediate aftermath of the storm to the recovery effort as of Friday. Pretty interesting to see how far the city has come and how far it sill has to go. Will be following up with similar pieces on Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, etc. in the coming days.

This is a quick, rough article, but it appears that authorities have the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect pinned down or cornered, and that shots have been fired in Watertown...
