I know some of you are secretly hungering for me to share something that flopped in my marketing efforts. So here are the results of my 3-day Countdown Deal for A Spiritual Growth plan for Your Choleric Child. I sold 30 ebooks for just over $20 royalty. Well, better than nothing. And I did sell 3 paperbacks yesterday, which may have been due to advertising the sale. This book has done much better as a paperback so far. Now I need to consider whether to take it out of KDP Select. That would mean losing $1.40 per ebook sale. Ebook sales have been really slow--1 or 2 per week for a book that came out in May. Should I make it available through other retailers? Any thoughts?
Actually, as I add up the sales, it's almost exactly 1 per day when I include the 30 from this Countdown Deal (83 books in 82 days). If I exclude those, it's about $1.80 profit per day. Can I make up an average of $.90 per day lost, if I have it on other venues. My sense is it's worth a try. I could always go back to Select later.
