Individual singing tuition is a time to rediscover how to truly enjoy the experience of singing.
In the first lesson we will have a chat to see how you feel about your voice, what you’d like to work on, and any difficulties you may be experiencing.
Your voice is an expression of you, so it’s important we take the time to reconnect to the real you before we begin. From here we will have a good basis to start exploring and having some fun with your voice!
The lessons will present what is happening for you on a technical, physical, emotional and energetic level. Therefore offering you a holistic awareness of your voice.
Individual tuition is ideal for anyone interested in the development of connection to their true voice and self expression, from absolute beginners through to professional singers.

http://www.connectedvoicecentre.com/my-approach/

My approach to teaching singing is holistic, integrating mind and body awareness to create a harmonious foundation to sing from. When the body is in a gentle harmonious state it is much easier and more enjoyable to sing, whatever the singing task may be.
The body has it’s own true intelligence and is communicating with us all the time. By bringing awareness to our bodies, we can begin to feel what is working and what is not working for us. Being able to recognize the feeling in the body when something becomes difficult is part of the unfolding process that paves the way for unlocking disharmonious patterns and allowing for new, more harmonious ways of singing to emerge.
In my experience, teaching singing is an organic process that unfolds differently for each person. Although I have plenty of techniques and exercises I have developed over the years, I tend not to work to pre-set lesson plans leaving the space for each person’s process to unfold naturally with my guidance and support. In this way, the work we do is specific to the person and what is needed at the time.
Furthermore, I have found that there is so much more to singing than just hitting the right notes. Of course singing in tune and having a solid technique is desirable, however it is only a part of the whole picture. Feeling connected to ourselves and being able to remain present when we’re singing is the true foundation that allows for freedom of true self-expression and the joy of singing. Therefore, there is a lot more going on that can be addressed and worked on in the lessons to make singing a truly enjoyable experience.
