So, the Guadalupe is moving waaay to fast to tube currently. Looks like it will be that way for a few weeks. The water is going into Canyon Lake faster than they are letting it out. So, they will keep letting it out like this and it will continue to be only good for Guided Raft Trips. Come on down and float the Comal with us! Crystal Clear water, no flooding, not affected by the release from the lake. Different River all together

"Had an awesome time tubing down the river and the staff was very friendly!"
"We chose to celebrate my friend's birthday by floating the Comal River."
"But the hour-long waits for tube rental and shuttle rides seem ludicrous."

I really like Comal Tubes the best out of all the tubing places I've tried out! They always have tons of coupons! Their check in process isn't ridiculously complicated, and the prices are great. They staff is very friendly and helpful, the shuttles were quick and well maintained as well

7/18/15 - BROKEN DOWN BUSES, CHEAP SMALL TUBES, RUDE INSIDE EMPLOYEES, 2 HOUR WAIT, Go somewhere closer to the water - where you don't need a shuttle to get to and from the river. They were down 2 buses and a van today. They didn't tell us that when we paid. We found out after we waited in line the first hour. The tubes they provide are cheap, thin and smaller than the other companies... my husband (6'0 and 200 lbs) was too big for the tube and had to use it as a floaty, rather than be able to sit in it. The final straw that really upset me was... (rather long - so bear with me) my husband lost his prescription glasses after the first chute. He cannot see without his glasses, so while we were floating down the river, I called our eye dr. who said he could fax his eyeglass prescription (they couldn't email it so I could get it on my phone) so that we could take it to get him a new pair of glasses when he got out of the river. We live in Houston, so we were far from home - the only thing I could think of was to have them fax it to Comal Tubes and we'd grab it when we returned. I called Comal (again - while I'm floating down the river) and told them our predicament. The girl who answered said "Just a second, I'll check on that". She comes back and said "We don't have a fax". (REALLY?) Well, we get back to the building to return our tubes... and right there to the right of the store, behind the counter is a HUGE FAX MACHINE. WHY lie? Rude. And when we picked up our keys (which is your security deposit for the tubes), there were 3 teenagers behind the counter - all ignoring us while we waited. Spend your money elsewhere.

This was a really terrible tube place. My group had to wait one and a half hours and there were not enough buses. 25 minute rotations are not enough!!

Purchased 4 tubes through Groupon with expiration of 06 October 2014. However, every time we went to "float" Comal Tubes was closed! And they do NOT return phone calls. I left a message requesting a call back. Spent $34.00 to utilize Comal tubes of which do not have hours that are conducive to end of September/beginning of October out of town floaters. A waste of time and money. DON'T DO IT!

I've had the best experience with Comal tubes. We rented tubes there a couple of years ago. They are located in town there. in New Braunfels. After renting tubes they shuttle you to the city park for drop off. The staff at Comal Tubes was extremely accommodating that year and came to get us after an injury in the river forced us to cut our trip short. The shuttle came to where we were and helped us get back home. Great people and great service.

Today (7/18/2015) we just waited 2 hours in the sun to get on to the bus to take to the river. They were obviously having bus issues but never did any employee explain the reasoning for the delay or even apologize for the delay. After floating the river, we were watching a competing company have circulating buses so that their patrons waited no longer then 7 minutes for a bus. With all the frustration we had from the beginning of the trip, we opted to walked the .7 mile back to the company, even though we paid for the ride back because the wait was seemingly going to be 1+hours. They seemed overwhelmed and not ready for the crowds. We have used them in the past with no problems, but they lost us as customers today.

This was a terrible tubing experience from the arrival of Comal Tubes. It was very confusing on where to go first after parking. Workers were out working on tubes and didn't even look up to see if anyone needed help. I ended up paying WAY MORE than I expected for one extra tube and 2 with a bottom (another 30 bucks). The line was disorganized. There were two buses running and you have to load and unload your own tubes which becomes very difficult when you are standing on the side of a street with small children. Then trying to get back to the office while the rest of the party waits at the car while the workers search for our paper and our keys....which they couldn't find the paper at all. I saw my key hanging on the wall and just asked them to give us our key so we could get out of there. They hold your key but they don't really know if you returned all of your tubes or not because you just throw them in a big pile once you return. We will never return to this location to tube again.
