So, in Italian vongole VERACI means clams in the shell, but the word VORACI mean really hungry. There is this joke in Italy that this kid goes to his mum and say "hey mum the vongole voraci eat all the spaghetti !!" I know, Italians don't get the jokes of SNL either....The important thing is that it taste good !!

First, love the fact that they don't charge corkage. Second, absolutely love their calamari steak!! Very tender with just the right amount of seasoning in my opinion. Not a huge fan of their pastas, but I still give this place a 4 star because I personally love their casual atmosphere. They could improve on the seating though... Very crowded when the house is full.

Great food and friendly attentive service. You can bring your own bottle of wine last I checked. Definitely recommended for casual dining. Cons: limited drink selection and 18% mandatory gratuity added to our party of 5 bill.

Colori takes reservation and I would highly recommend getting one since it can get quite busy any of their night. The best parts about Colori is their free corkage fee and comfort Italian cuisine. Apparently, some of my friends experienced some horrific dining experiences in the past at Colori. Luckily, I did not experience any of that nonsense. Our waiter was friendly and quirky with his humor. He managed to check on us couple times throughout the meal even on a busy night. Here are some of their rules: -One bottle/every two people in your party -$2 split charge -No more than 3 cards for tables of 4-6; No more than 4 cards for table of 6 or more -$1/per person for cake cutting fee My take on my dinner: Calamari (appetizer): Grilled and Buttery, HIT. This was a special for the night, bring it back! House's recipe Lasagna: Thickly layered and fully of flavors. Perfect meaty Lasagna! Overall, the food here has quality with simple touches and burst of flavors. I'm a fan, can't wait to come back for some more delicious pasta, nom. Parking: nearby meter or paid lot

Service and food is just awesome. We had a party of 9 and ate just about everything on the menu. Calamari is awesome, ravioli, black cod, seafood soup, tiramisu... All great. And bring your own wine. That made it very personal for us as well.

Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and lasagna had lots of flavor. However the cheesecake was awful. It looked, tasted and felt like a pound cake. The only downside I found to this place was that it was pricey so its definitely a restaurant to go to on a special occasion; keep in mind the place is not fancy at all and small/tight.

I heard so many good things about Colori. I'm sad to report that it was overhyped and overpriced for what it is. Food: 1) Burrata - can you really go wrong with burrata? 2) Pesto Spaghetti - it was good, but not worth the money. Service: The servers were friendly and provided great service. Parking: Street parking on 8th street in front of Colori. It's free after 6:00 or 7:00. You'll have to double check.

I really want to give Colori Kitchen at least a 4 star rating but my entree was so disappointing that I just can't. I will be back again eventually though so hopefully I enjoy my food more on my next visit. First of all, I love the BYOB with no corkage fee. The service was great. I love their bread and also most of the dishes we had, including the mushroom risotto and the lasagna. I especially loved the salad that was on their specials menu. I could eat 5 plates of that salad and be happy. It all goes wrong with my Linguine alla Vongole or Linguini with Clams came out. The dish was crazy salty to the point where I could barely eat it. I ended up splitting the dishes around the table with the rest of the table and stole my boyfriend's mushroom risotto. Several of the clams had a lot of sand in them too so I was unpleasantly surprised after chewing into them. Parking is tough since it's DTLA. You may get lucky and find street parking. Otherwise, I would just suck it up and pay $5+ to park at one of the downtown lots.

We came in for a late dinner on Saturday night and there were no wait. We shared the steak calamari and the spaghetti carbonara with chicken added. The calamari was absolutely delicious! It was tender, buttery and delicate. The sauce was so amazing! I'd pass on the spaghetti carbonara. The pasta was a tad overcooked and chicken was really dry. I wish they gave more sauce. I loved the dip that came with the complimentary bread. It was so good! They do not serve any alcohol but it's BYOB with NO corkage fee. Metered parking and a couple small lots.
