Mexican-Born 2nd Great Grandfather Francisco Jimenez is My 1st Identified Civil War Ancestor

Manuel Nieto Project: His Birthplace Does Not Jive with My Nieto Ancestry

My first discovery for the Manuel Nieto Project. Identifying Don Manuel Nieto's birthplace in Spanish-ruled Mexico makes it very highly unlikely that my family is descended from him. It is more likely we may be related to him, sharing a common ancestor.

I met with Dr. Piroutek and his staff for the first time today (referred by a coworker and friend). He was great. The staff is great. All very very gentle, friendly, and considerate -- particularly to patients like me who are terrified of the dentist (I had Dr. Tony Protopappas as a child, the murderer dentist from Orange County). I went in forcibly due to a tooth that broke on Friday, and had full X-rays and exams today, as well as my first cleaning. I go back for a temporary, and then permanent crown for the broken tooth. I went in extremely nervous, and left very relieved and happy. The doctor is great. And I love that he doesn't try to talk patients into unnecessary work; he is also very willing to schedule things out as needed across multiple insurance years.

Good, fun, fusion sushi flavors. Traditional sushi is not their style. A bit overpriced for us to eat at every time we crave sushi.
