What are we doing to improve safety in Malaysia? Its affecting tourism arrivals f'sure

http://www.bytebot.net/blog/archives/2015/07/25/safety-in-malaysia-and-the-external-perception
I am sitting at The Pier, a Cathay Pacific Lounge in the Hong Kong airport. While I still occasionally swing by The Wing, The Bridge, and The Cabin (in that order), this lounge has become my favourite, as you can get a 20-30 minute complimentary massage, which makes the transit a lot more bearable. Today’s…

Not perception, it really is not safe. Already used to news and reports of armed robbery in my middle class suburb. When patrolling with neighborhood watch, you learn that pretty much everyone has or knows someone close (family member) who has been victim of crime mugging, car theft or burglary. Either homes or office.

+MariaDB is now 5 years old. We had our first GA release February 1 2010. Here's a quick look back. Also much thanks to all users, developers, contributors!
I stopped working on MySQL at Sun Microsystems in late 2009 (after a lengthy period of garden leave), to join Monty Program Ab, and was greatly anticipating a MariaDB release that we could take to market. The first GA release of MariaDB came out February 1 2010 - MariaDB 5.1.42. Today is MariaDB’s 5th birthday!…

I’m excited to be at LinuxCon North America in Seattle next week (August 17-19 2015). I’ve spoken at many LinuxCon events, and this one won’t be any different. Part of the appeal of the conference is being able to visit a new place every year. MariaDB…

The way I see money being invested lately makes me think of a proverb, “a fool and his money are soon parted”. There has been a lot of talk recently about “the gig economy”. The FT has a series titled the New World of Work. The NYT has been covering this…

in where i attempt to keep track of bitcoin related resources and wonder what 2015 will look like
This is more for me, rather than anyone else (just like everything here), but its worth keeping track of the Bitcoin scene in Malaysia (at a time when Bitcoin is tanking). For Bitcoin news, its Bitcoin Malaysia - its no CoinDesk, but the founder, Colbert Lau, does evangelise Bitcoin quite a lot. It is from…
