Happy Fourth of July! What better way to celebrate than with an image from one of my favorite National Parks in the US, Yosemite!

Behind the Lens || Sunset in Vik, Iceland

Another challenging day in paradise!

So far this workshop group has had amazing weather throughout our trip. Let's hope this continues for the next few days as we head further south and east here in Iceland.

Lots more goodness to come! 2016 workshop schedule will be up soon!

Every once in a while it is nice to get a sense of perspective and scale from Mother Nature. For me, that means heading back to Iceland later today for yet another trip to this unique country.

Making a Difference in Nepal

In the wake of the earthquake that hit Nepal, there are still thousands of families that need help, most of which live far outside of Kathmandu.

However, the problem with large humanitarian organizations is that the money donated is often lost or used in ways that don't directly help those in need (See this link about The Red Cross in Haiti - http://bit.ly/NPR-Red-Cross)

If you want to do some good, you have to start at a smaller level. Please check out this IndieGoGo link below from a friend that is trying to make the difference for one family at a time.

"The Layers of Antelope Canyon"
Lower Antelope Canyon

Like the layers of an onion, there is so much more to locations such as Antelope Canyon in Paige, Arizona. While there are certainly iconic shots to be captured, the fun often resides with thinking outside the box...and often laying on the floor to get a unique composition.
What do you prefer? Iconic shots or unique compositions? Often times I want both ;)

Enjoy and share!

Behind the Lens || Fjallsárlón Glacier Reflections

I always love exploring Iceland at different times of the year. Last night I took my workshop clients to Fjallsarlon Glacier, which is right next to the more popular Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon. Needless to say the story dramatic clouds and perfectly still water made for great reflections.

Lots more goodness to come! 2016 workshop schedule will be up soon!

Windows is Now a Viable Alternative for Creative Professionals

While OSX and Apple have typically been favored by creatives for the last few years, there is no doubt that Microsoft has made great strides with the Windows platform as of late. With the recent announcement of both USB-C and Thunderbolt 3, the upcoming Surface Pro 4 and Wacom's Cintiq Companion 2....there are a lot of things to get excited about.

After all, Windows still controls over 90% of the personal computing market. It is about time they started making some awesome devices for photographers, illustrators and graphic designers!
With Windows 10 launching this summer & Intel adopting the USB-C standard for Thunderbolt 3, the Windows platform is becoming a lot more attractive for creatives professionals around the globe.

"The Emerald Gorge"
Karijini National Park, Western Australia

Karijini National Park in Western Australia is one of my favorite places on the planet to photograph. Set in the heart of the Australian Outback is a series of incredible gorges and emerald pools that are nothing short of a photographer's paradise. I can't wait to get back there and continue to explore!

Don't forget that today is also the last day to pick up this year's InFocus Deal. With it you get over 90% off e-books, 15+ hrs of video tutorials and online classes from some of the top landscape and travel photographers in the industry. The package bundle ends tonight at midnight EST.
