Code Your Cloud

Lately we were running into an issue where some files were not being loaded in the sidebar. This was due to the rate-limiting of Google Drive.

This has now been solved using an exponential backoff (http://www.andjosh.com/2015/07/21/Exponential-Back-Off-in-JavaScript/)

Happy coding!

The mobile app is finally done! All what's left is publishing it... So far, it's confirmed to work with ios7 and ios8. It will probably only be released for iphones.

2 more possible logo designs. The first one is based on Google's Material Design. The second one is more iOS-like. The two crescents also make CYC. Feel free to contribute any other ideas.

#codeyourcloud  now supports +OneDrive !

Most of the functions available with Google Drive are also available with OneDrive. However, realtime updates and chat functionality are not.

Since most of the users are using Google Drive, CodeYourCloud will load Google Drive when given the choice between the two. To get started, got to https://codeyourcloud.com/about and Click "login with OneDrive".

Polymer, we knew you well... we're phasing polymer out from both the website and the mobile app. The reasons are multiple.

1) although the UI elements are cool, they can also be created with CSS
2) we really didn't need to make custom elements
3) it takes a lot of files just to use polymer, which slows down the page load time.

We may experiment with other frameworks/platforms like AngularJS (probably not) or React (probably), to see if those will be more useful to the app.

Some more things to look forward to:
* a better-looking chat tab
* a popup chat menu
* a popup menu to switch between file tabs
* deleting files
* renaming files from the tabs
* deleting files from the tabs
* more visual tweaks
* full-screen preview

no, we don't have a "temporary" mode. We do have Google Drive integration.

We just completely overhauled the main #codeyourcloud  editor. The new layout allows for chatting, previewing, running code, and changing options while having the editor present and editable.

The about page has not been updated with the new screenshots, but it will be soon.

We're thinking about switching up the logo. Here are some possible options.

we're leaning towards #4. The current one is good, but a little bit bland. We will probably just keep it with slight modifications, for the sake of familiarity.
