Earlier this week Microsoft announced that Node.js Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio is available for download. This marks the final release of the NTVS open source plugin, allowing developers to turn Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 into a Node.js IDE to build fast, scalable applications using JavaScript http://bit.ly/1FVnBY0

This morning at Convergence Microsoft announced the Azure Internet of Things suite, which will be released in preview later this year. The Azure IoT Suite will offer tools to cover various use cases such as predictive maintenance and asset management. Azure Stream Analytics, which enables customers to process massive amounts of real time, incoming data from “things” and services to help predict trends and automate services or responses, is currently available in preview, and will be available next month as part of the suite http://bit.ly/1xrMBiD
