Had you announced a date, I wouldn't have asked the question.

Nice to make your acquaintance, Trove. I'll probably not be seeing you around.

Curious what I've been up to this last year?  Today we are announcing Trove for iOS.  A social news discovery app that puts people picking great stories at the center.  We're going after the signal/noise problem in a serious way.  Please donwload/install http://trov.es/friends-download

This remnant of a supernova located 26,000 light years away is captured here through X-ray, radio and infrared data. It's just one of the 10 best space photos of 2013: http://bit.ly/1cbNTC9

Just set this as my Nexus 5 wallpaper. Too beautiful and mysterious to pass up. Thanks, +Rob Malda!

Razzle Dazzle! This stunning and bold type of camouflage was used by some World War I vessels to confuse enemies and make it difficult to pinpoint a ship's exact location. But researchers found that this pattern also occurs in nature and may help predators confuse and stun their prey. Details on the study: http://bit.ly/1jlyS8m

There was a huge amount of work done on optically masking fighters during WWII.  One of the coolest things was experiments done with sticking headlights on the wings of US fighter/bombers so they could color-match with the sky when dive-bombing submarines.  It was apparently pretty effective.

It's not one of the real shuttles but a mockup. A lot of locals were really pissed that Space Center Houston didn't receive any of the actual shuttles for display.

I know the stereotype is that models are all one dimensional, but... Umm... 3d... Ummm... Models... Ummm. I give up.

Victoria's Secret collaborated with a 3D-printing company, an architect and Swarovski to make this incredible outfit. It's one of the 5 coolest ensembles from tonight's big fashion show: http://bit.ly/1iUvR0T

I am not going to be getting +Google Glass anytime soon (maybe when they get an iOS version ;-), but as +Craig Trader said, I certainly cannot get laser surgery, not because my prescription changes much, but because I use glasses (a lot, when reading, computing, gaming) for reading to ease muscle strain, not to correct my eyes.

But I imagine Google will soon have a way to bionicize my eye muscles and then I won't need the glasses.

The amount of spam I get in my google notifications panel really hampers my ability to use it in any meaningful way.

You can stop all invites to communities +Rob Malda if it is worth it to you (you may not care about the feature). If you feel you need community invites then you are stuck with the spam ones for now. I know +Lauren Weinstein has been complaining of the same thing. I guess they are currently targeting popular  folks with a lot of followers. I certainly don't get this type of spam - but nobody follows me so I am in the clear. Hopefully, Google makes some updates in this area so that people don't have this issue. Unfortunately it will have to be a technical solution to a people problem, but what else can they do. Spammers gonna spam.
