A gutty win last night but it came at a price as the Wild lost 3 forwards to injury during the game and the update is not good.

Marcus Foligno took a haymaker to the face in a fight and the result was a facial fracture and he is out for a minimum of one week.

Nino went down in the 3rd period when a Blackhawks player fell on his left leg. He has a high left ankle sprain and he's out for a minimum of 3 weeks.

Then Charlie Coyle was hit in the right leg by a Jared Spurgeon point shot and suffered a right fibula fracture. He had surgery today & is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. WOW!!!

The WIld will be able to call up some reinforcements from the minors due to these injuries, one of them being 19-year-old 2016 1st round pick F Luke Kunin, who should make his NHL Debut tomorrow night.

We'll keep you updated when the other call-ups are announced.

Sometimes you get #InjuredInTheWild! Time for that #WildDepth to step up!

Here are the full highlights of last night's season opener for the Minnesota Wild (7:50).

They lost 4-2 to the Detroit Red Wings in the 1st regular season game at Little Ceasars Arena.

The Wild appeared to go up 1-0 twice but both times the goal was disallowed due to goalie interference. Those calls are somewhat understandable as Marcus Foligno was in the crease during the 1st one and Mikael Granlund hit Jimmy Howard on the 2nd one.

On both goals, a question that I'm sure won't be answered is why isn't a penalty called on the #RedWings. On non-goal #1, Foligno is cross-checked into the goalie and on non-goal #2, Granlund is interfered with trying to get to the front of the net.

Then, on the other end of the ice. Nothing is called when Justin Abdelkader is all over Devan Dubnyk.

It's understandable of the league to want to cut down on penalties. Teams get frustrated when they aren't called the same way on both ends of the ice or by different officials.

The Wild did battle back to tie the game in the 3rd but didn't keep the same intensity once the game was tied and it cost them any points and any Pizza, Pizza!!!

Next game is Saturday night at the Carolina Hurricanes at 6pm on Fox Sports North.

Let's see how this Wild team responds to a loss!

Luke Kunin is one of those prized prospects the Minnesota Wild have coming soon. Mr. Kunin is working hard to make that sooner rather than later.

See him get his first NHL action tonight when the Wild play their 1st preseason game of the season on the road against the Winnipeg Jets joined in progress at 8:30pm on the NHL Network. The game will replay tomorrow at 5:00am and 3pm.

We get to watch some hockey tonight, ClutterPuckers!!!! #GetWILD!!!

Great article on The Players Tribune from Wild D-man Ryan Suter about his dad and how he was always about the kids and you'd never know he was part of the #MiracleOnIce!

Wait 'til you see where his gold medal stayed for a couple of weeks.

Did the Minnesota Wild make a Scandellous Trade?
Do they have the depth to fill Marco Scandella's spot and his physicality?

It's just #6Days until Wild players report for Training Camp!

AND, if you didn't get it, Marco Scandella wore the number 6! HA!
