Imagine a factory in the “cloud” where organizations from around the world send their repetitive work to be completed around the clock by a combination of software robots and smart people. Welcome to CloudFactory! We process millions of documents, audio files, video files, and images to extract data and make it searchable, actionable and valuable.

In Big Data processing, it is not about humans versus machines or finding the right algorithm -- but it is about the right symbiotic relationship between humans and machines.

Economies are not fixed-sized pies. When companies grow, the company and its employees can consume more. This increases demand on other businesses in that economy, and the pie grows. Economies benefit from companies that scale.
Businesses large and small benefit from scaling. Economies benefit from business growth. People benefit from the growth of economies. That’s how we grow the pie.

In our world, labor automation and robotic process automation are keys for creating a bigger pie of work that leads to job creation and opportunities for smart people around the world.

We think the future of work involves a flat world, it involves robots, and it also involves a level of responsibility to see humankind flourish. (via +CloudFactory)
CloudFactory is building the future of work today. Our factory in the cloud finds the right combination of people and technology to help our clients thrive. We also care deeply about seeing the places we work and people we work with thrive.

The core of computer vision is concentrated on learning how to automatically recognise things that humans are already awesome at recognising (dogs, cats, sail boats, handwriting, etc.). Humans can recognise these things in approximately 0.3 seconds -- you can recognize a Jack Russell before you can even think the words ‘super cute dog'. Humans are great computers.

In combining Google Loon and CloudFactory, one could imagine an opportunity for a rural mountain-top farmer to supplement his income by logging into the web-based CloudFactory Worker Platform a few hours a week, getting paid for as many tasks as he wishes (and also using Google Loon to check the weather and increase his crop output).

Outsourcing was the Bogeyman of the 90s. Protectionists portrayed it as an evil that would take American jobs away. Yes, some jobs did go offshore as people feared, but it made the global economic pie grow bigger. Whether you agree or disagree, and regardless of whether you love outsourcing or hate it, much more lies ahead.

The nature of work is itself changing—it is democratizing.  Outsourcing is being superseded by crowdsourcing—which is enabling anyone to take a job anywhere. Having people all across the world collaborate in this way will not only disrupt industries, but will also change societies.
