Temenos uses the CloudBees Jenkins Platform as an automation server for its Unified Temenos Platform (UTP). The CloudBees solution orchestrates the entire factory infrastructure of Temenos’ software development, integration & deployment across 1,250 developers & testers working on suites of integrated banking solutions comprising 30+ separate products. “Jenkins is at the heart of these factories,” says Williams. “We support seven core platform stacks, & every time we deploy & test we have to do so across these different stacks. There is a huge amount of complexity, & we couldn’t orchestrate the deployment & testing phases effectively without Jenkins.” http://ow.ly/AEvk30a9qc3

Continuous delivery is a journey, not a destination, and it’s fundamentally about continuous improvement. Start by defining and communicating the measurable business goals you want to achieve, and then make sure teams have the time and resources they need to succeed. Getting better at delivery typically involves substantial investment in test and deployment automation along with re-architecture to build systems that can be easily tested on developer workstations and deployed in a simple fashion without (say) lots of orchestration. So you need to be ready for that. - Jez Humble http://ow.ly/1o2E309RLXw

At CloudBees, we are all about integration with other technologies and pride ourselves on giving developers the tools to use Jenkins and CloudBees in tandem with current DevOps practices. That is why we are so excited to hear that half of all UrbanCode customers also use Jenkins to improve and enhance their DevOps flows: http://ow.ly/dg4G309HQ0t

The main benefit behind continuous delivery is lower-risk releases; comprehensive test automation and continuous integration are the practices that have the biggest impact on IT performance. Research of continuous delivery and IT performance tells us that implementing continuous delivery practices leads to higher IT performance and high performers achieve both higher tempo and higher levels of stability, says Jez Humble. http://ow.ly/1o2E309RLXw

In order for #DevOps to truly work, there must be a commitment to enable the change. This only happens with a lot of hard work, diligence and support from the top. Any company that needs to deliver quality software—and deliver it quickly—should care about DevOps and the supporting practice of CD. - Sacha Labourey http://ow.ly/49FM308TAg5
