Visited the Anchor Tap and the Malt Shovel on the way home yesterday. If you like a wide choice of excellent ales, these two pubs are the best in Horsham!

I visited Horsham Beer Festival at the weekend. It was a great event as always. The range of beers was fantastic. And the atmosphere was just right. Many thanks to Gareth Jones (The Beer Essentials) and team for making the event happen.

Yes, Drill Hall. Not easy to drop in at the last minute. It's a very popular event and tickets for the Saturday sell out in June. Not sure they have tickets on the door at all. Perhaps for the Sunday.

Tl:dr Super fast pages that Google are promoting in mobile search results. Ignore AMP and you may lose out. Assess your site. Implement AMP for your blog posts and news articles.
The Google Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) project is an open-source initiative to provide faster mobile web browsing. The project was announced by Google in October last year. What is it, why do I need it, and what should I do?

My latest tips and tricks post
Nobody likes clicking on a link to find that it goes to a missing page. And Google doesn't like it either! So, it's a good idea to run a regular site audit (I suggest monthly) to check for broken links. Here are four tools that will help you do that.

I've been on the Relative Paths podcast. We talked about Perch content management system.

Perch is one of the most powerful and flexible #CMS's. In this week's #podcast we talk about why you should try it.
This week Ben and I are joined by Front End (or is that Front-End) developer Clive Walker to talk about Perch CMS. We have a lot of positive things to say about it, it's powerful and flexible, but easy to use. We also talk about Perch's many free add-ons, including the recently added Perch Shop e-commerce platform. Just so you know, we're not being sponsored by perch, we just really like it. It's become my CMS of choice, and I reckon it's well w...

Spent a couple of days cycling in Dorset recently. Stayed in a hotel in Bournemouth and cycled two circular routes from there. Particularly enjoyed the Isle of Purbeck. Lovely countryside! http://www.clivewalker.co.uk/cycling-trip-bournemouth-dorset/
I went on a weekend cycling trip to Bournemouth with some friends recently. We cycled a couple of circular routes in Dorset, including the Isle of Purbeck.

My introduction to landing pages. What are they? My top tips for making better landing pages.
A landing page is where you expect users to enter your site, for example perhaps from a Google AdWords pay-per-click (PPC) campaign. Landing pages are pages with a single, specific objective. There are two types.

Whilst on a long circular cycle ride, I managed to snap the small clip that is part of the front disc brake mechanism. With no front braking, I was stuck. Luckily, I was just down the road from Thame and Two Wheels came to my rescue. I walked my bike to the shop and they replaced the front pads, and adjusted front and rear brakes - all at very short notice - and within 30 minutes, I was on my way again. Many thanks for the work guys. Brilliant job!
