Over 60 people took part in the Walk of Peace through Exeter City to celebrate International Women's Day.

The Walk, organised by Devon United Women (DUW), culminated at the +Exeter Mosque  in York Road where DUW organised celebrations, sponsored and supported by +Devon County Council  and +Exeter City Council, Devon Faith & Belief and Fawcett Devon. #InternationalWomensDay   #IWD2015   #womensrights  
The community of Exeter came together at Bedford Square to begin the Walk for Peace. Over 60 people carried banners and messages from all over Devon highlighting Devon United Women's commitment to women’s rights and gender issues.

Teachers and supporters from across Exeter came together to march through the city centre on a day of industrial action, which is in defence of their pay, pensions and conditions of service. Via +Demotix

    Meridian RAW is a not-for-profit social enterprise company limited by guarantee, that uses photography as an empowerment tool for marginalised communities and socially excluded individuals. We help to bring about social change and advocacy through creative participatory photography workshops and participatory photography training. To achieve this, we place the camera in the hands of the user and provide them with the opportunity to create a photo-stories or themes that are personal, self-reflective or that highlight issues that affect them directly or that can affect their community. We also provide training to organisations and individuals who want to deliver their own participatory photography projects to their clients and their communities.

My photography follows the themes of culture, social observation, music, disability and photojournalism, with coverage in the United Kingdom, Ethiopia, and Canada.  I shoot for the news wire Demotix and have been published in The Time, Guardian, The Observer, Channel 4 and the BBC.

I am also founder and director of Meridian Raw, which is a not-for-profit social enterprise that uses photography as an empowerment tool for marginalised communities and socially excluded individuals. We help to bring about social change and advocacy through creative participatory photography workshops and participatory photography training. 

I am also social media lead for TEDxExeter, which is a local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxExeter, where x = independently organised TED event.
