I read this article to my wife this morning and we laughed at how closely you described my own experience and frustrations.

I read up on FODMAPs early in my gluten diagnosis, but shuddered when I read the list of foods. I was already making a forced diet change, so further eliminating some of my favorite new dietary staples was discouraging to say the least.

Ignorance is bliss... for now. It would be nice to know what my specific triggers are.

Thanks for the recipes!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is okay, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. is making for a nice little summer-working-background album.

None of my mostly African American 11th graders in Portland had ever heard of the so-called Tulsa Race Riot, even though it stands as one of the most violent episodes of dispossession in U.S. history. The term "race riot" does not adequately describe the events of May 31-June 1, 1921 ;in Gr...

I should probably be line drying my tshirts and jean shorts this summer....it'd probably be faster anyway. Downside: there may be an increase in homeless guys running around in vintage tshirts and cut off levis.

Good food. Consistently terrible service. There is obviously something wrong with the management of this restaurant for them to provide the same slow and poor service every time I visit. I really want to support this kind of food downtown, but when we have to ask someone to serve us after sitting at a table for 15 minutes, the experience simply isn't worth it.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough, especially if you have issues with gluten or other food allergies.

Careful ordering the "gluten-free" bread; they toast it in their regular toaster.

They may make everything from scratch, but nothing feels fresh. They had no guacamole (again). You should interpret "beans" in every menu item to mean "refried beans". Neither version of salsa had much flavor - even the people in our group that don't like spice described them as "bland". Nachos were fried tortilla triangles with a solid half-inch of ground beef covering every one of them. Too bad the name "Cow Chips" is already taken. Taco salad was a bowl of rice with refried beans and cheese melted into it with a handful of shredded lettuce on top. Yet another bland Tex-Mex restaurant in Tulsa. But hey! It's cheap and you can get a round of putt-putt in after your meal.
