Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Painting of NC.
The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is an original oil painting by Clina Polloni.

“With its black and white stripes, the emerald and blue colors of the Atlantic Ocean was an inspiration and an addition to the collection of oil paintings that I am doing of North Carolina.”

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the tallest in the United States, stands 208 feet (63 m) from the bottom of the foundation to the peak of the roof. Protecting one of the most treacherous stretches of the Outer Banks, NC.

Oil on Canvas 24”x 36”.

Instructions of how to do this painting:

1. Start by drawing the lighthouse in its original place.
2. Do your under-paint or imprimatura with a wash of acrylic gold and silver. Acrylics are very good for under-painting because they dry faster. They create a worm color that once you put the oils in the top, they look brighter.

Start painting with oils in the following order because it is going to be easier for you:
1. Using oils, start painting the sky, ocean, sand and stones.
2. Using oils paint the lighthouse.
3. Sign your work of art.

Gold Pear Painting, Instructions and Supply.

This painting was created for the painting classes, is a simple and charming painting of a Gold Pear. A perfect exercise for learning to blend, a technique that is vey important in acrylic or oil painting.

This variety of pear is referred to as a Taylor's Golden or simply the Gold Pear. Similar to the Comice Pear in appearance, the Gold Pear has a smooth outer skin that is thin and easily broken that covers a sweet white, juicy inner flesh which provides a pleasantly sweet aroma.

Instructions:

1. Start by drawing the pear, thinking about light and shade.
2. In this painting I did an under-paint of Yellow Ochre and Gold with acrylics because they dry faster. The under paint is very important because you are continuing to draw with colors and defining light and shade in your final painting.
3. Paint the background first. Including the table and shade of the pear.
4. Enjoy doing your painting, blending the gold colors of the pear.
5. Sign your work of art.
