That's a great article Jim! I think too many institutions think you just "flip the switch" and you are suddenly digital and don't need branches. Your point about branch transformation requiring a holistic approach flowing from business goals is spot on!

This is a great video! Not so much the hype about the "branch of the future" - we've all heard that a thousand times - but rather the fact that in the face of increased online and alternative banking sources, the brick and mortars are still pushing the branch as being part of the future! According to the report, 75% of Chase customers use a branch regularly.

Agreed completely Kevin! As more people use alternative channels for performing simple transactions, the branches move more towards sales and service as they should - but they sure aren't going away as some pundits keep calling for.

Exactly correct Kristina! Many companies view training as an expense that must be endured rather than a tangible benefit to the bottom line!

In fact, in a study of 575 publicly traded companies, the American Society for Training & Development, Inc. (ASTD) found that for every increase of approximately $700 in per employee training, there was a six percent improvement in total shareholder return in the following year!!
