Did you know....

Chef Boyardee (Hector Boiardi) is entombed at All Souls
Cemetery in Chardon. He was born in
Italy in 1897 and made his way to America in 1914. His journey eventually brought him to
Cleveland where he and his wife opened their restaurant, IL Giardino d'Italia,
in 1924. In 1928, Hector and his
brothers founded the Chef Boyardee company in Milton, PA, using a phonetic
spelling to make it easier to pronounce.
Hector Boiardi was awarded The Gold Star, one of the highest honors a
civilian can receive, for providing meals to our troops during WW II.
