Entrepreneurship isn't Sexy
It's easy to get caught up in the romantic notions of start-ups. The entrepreneurial manifestation portrayed in Hollywood biopics and quasi-factual narratives has given rise to an entire generation of "wantrapreneurs," a term that couldn't be more fitting.Let's get something straight. There is nothing romantic or sexy about starting a company unless you consider staring at a computer screen, or phone dialing pad, or car steering wheel for hundred...

The biggest financial mistake that I see small building trades business owners make is focusing exclusively on revenues. In total there are probably a dozen or more financial factors that you should be tracking and constantly striving to improve. The big ThreeHere are the three areas that are both very important, and often missed by new business owners.Caveat: this is a nuts-and-bolts review for new building trades business owners seeking to maste...

Advertising can grow sales for a building trades or contracting business, but only if you follow the rules.
A  trades/contracting client recently called to tell us that two competitors were moving aggressively into his market. He noticed their ads popping up in the local media (newspaper & radio). He outlined a couple of responses (newspaper and billboard advertising), and asked what we thought of them.Getting at meaningful measurements of ROI on advertising is one of the more challenging questions for a small business owner. When trying to decide if a ...

Decent food, solid service. The setting is wonderful but there is better pub food in Victoria.

The beers we tried were excellent, the service spot on and the food more than acceptable. We are thrilled to have Moon Under Water as out neighbourhood pub.

Incredible modern fresh Lebanese food. Probably the best humus I have ever had. Took that night's creation home (yes you can buy it in a jam jar), orange and cloves humus, absolutely delicious. Fresh baked flatbread.

We had a good evening out here. Everything was "acceptable" but for two areas that were delightful: the service and the happy hour Sherry flights. At their price point they will need to dial up the food to be more inspired to tempt diners away from the many other options in Victoria.

Excellent food. Really smooth service. One of the best bar/casual dining places in the city. Recommended.
