Expansion Talk  -

Looks like the American could lose a couple schools in the next couple years to the Big 12. It sounds like they are definitely going to expand with teams outside of the "Power 5" conferences. It's just a matter of when.
Boren met with the media following Thursday's Board of Regents meeting.

The Google+ vs. Facebook comparisons really never made that much sense since they served different purposes from the very beginning. However, with the recently updated Google+, the days of comparison between the two social media networks are officially over.

Be sure to check out +Gabriel Komarnicki's opinion piece - The Days of Comparing Google+ and Facebook are Over.

#googleplus #facebook
We take a look at the future of G+ and consider if it's still worth comparing it with "that other social network." For months now, it was no secret that a major shift in the overall direction of Google+ was in the works, from...

That's sort of true but G+ and Facebook have always had a lot in common.

Check out my article to find out what's new in the latest update to the Google+ mobile apps.

Personally, I like the mobile update so far. What do you think about it?

Google+'s new UI and refocus on Communities and Collections is now rolling out to users of both the Android and iOS apps. We've got you covered on what's new and how to get the update if it hasn't rolled out to you yet.

Once you've tried it out, tell us what you think of the new app. What do you love or hate about it?

Thanks everyone! We weren't able to finish all of them over the weekend, but we aren't letting that slow us down. We should see the last few this week!

Today is a bitter sweet day. It marks the end of my time at Twitter and the beginning of the next phase my career at Prezi. I will soon be joining Prezi as their Search Engine Marketing Specialist! I will miss my coworkers at Twitter, but I'm really excited about what lies ahead at Prezi. I can't wait to join Prezi in a couple weeks!

Great take on Google's recent announcement that +Google+ is going to be a separate service going forward and why it should have been that way the whole time.

An opinion piece by +Cory May on the recent Google+ news (read that here: http://goo.gl/heClHu).

Give it a read, it's chock full of LOST GIFs.

I was always told I couldn't eat dessert until I finished my dinner. They'd say: "It's good for you!" Google was just doing what was best for us, right? Lost, anyone? The plan was simple... Step one: Make new social media pla...

It's great to see that the G+ team isn't done just yet with the new Google+. I'm excited about the three column streams, and I hope they aren't done just yet!

Beta users, it's #googleplusupdate  time.
The new radically overhauled Google+ launched in the form of a beta over a week ago has been updated to include a third column of posts in the stream along with a small bunch of other treats. The Google+ development team is l...

+Lee Jarratt covers everything you need to know about the new Google+, including how to force the update if it hasn't rolled out to you yet.

Personally, I think that I like the update overall because it cleans it up and simplifies it. However, the missing features is definitely a downer, so I'm hoping they bring at least some of them back.

What do you think? Do you like the redesign or are you a fan of "classic" G+?

Google has pulled back the curtain on a brand new Google+ experience and slapped a big ol'beta tag on it.

What say you, followers? Sticking with classic or embracing the beta?

#googleplusupdate
A beta version of Google+ that promises to be "simpler, faster, better" is launching today, which features the biggest changes to Google's social network in years. The optional beta for the web version of Google+ shows off an...

The hotel isn't anything to special but it's nice enough. The rooms are simple and the bed, while good enough, isn't great. The staff is very friendly. However, the breakfast is definitely a bit lacking on both the food and the coffee. The one meal we had in the restaurant was also just OK. Our favorite thing is the location. It's very close to the train and a quick ride into Venice. Also, the price was fairly good as well.

The room is fairly nice with nice decor, a constable bed, and a tub big enough for one person to take a bath. The breakfast is good, especially for a buffet breakfast included with the price of the room. There location is great for visiting Bologna. It's right across the street from the train which is handy if you're like us visiting Venice and traveling without a car. It's also walking distance to everything in the city center.

Blue Bottle has great coffee and hot chocolate. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I've heard multiple people call it the best latte they've ever had. However, be warned: the line can get fairly long, especially on Saturdays.

The food at Quinto Sol is solid. I personally really like the burritos, and I've heard good things about the crab enchiladas. Be warned: the portions are very large. You could probably share a meal. If you're feeling very hungry maybe share a meal and an appetizer.

I really like spending time at the Ferry Building. It's one of those things that are good for tourists and locals. There are lots of nice shops that specialize in something very specific like olive oil, cured meats, and cheese. There is also a Blue Bottle Coffee and Humphry Slocombe if enjoy very good coffee and/or ice cream. There is also a large farmer's market here Saturday mornings.

I like Jack's especially for breakfast. They have good comfort food for breakfast that you unfortunately just can't find much in the Bay Area. If you're a Southerner that's missing biscuits and gravy or country fried steak, Jack's is a good option for both.

This little cafe is great! The service is nice and the atmosphere is very laid back. They have tables in the front and couches in the back so that there's not shortage of seating options. I highly recommend one of the speciality options for a coffee or hot chocolate, especially nutella or red velvet.
