Enter Your Non-Profit to Win Glass & Other Goodies!

Meet Sabita Malla, Glass Explorer and senior research officer for +World Wildlife Fund Nepal. Celebrate #EarthDay with Sabita as she explores how Glass can help in her mission to protect rhinos.

Sabita uses custom Field Notes Glassware, software that was developed by a Glass Explorer who wanted to help WWF cut in half the work required to manage field conservation efforts. Sabita’s team is one of five nonprofits exploring how Glass might amplify their impact as part of Giving through Glass, a program we launched a few months ago in partnership with +Google.org: goo.gl/AT9obZ

We’re extending the program for another round starting today. Nonprofits can apply now through May 20 at g.co/givingthroughglass. Five nonprofits will win: Glass, a $25,000 grant, a trip to a Google office and a connection to Glass developers.

And if you’re a Glass developer who wants to partner with a nonprofit and code for impact, sign up now at goo.gl/IeRjnk.

Before you complain about a certain product or service not being in your region, I want you to think about this...

How much money are the owners losing by not bringing the product or service to you?

A lot.

Based on that, why would they ever make the uninformed decision to not launch in your region? Probably not an uninformed decision then, right?

It definitely isn't.

Okay, so they did their research, or even tried launching in your region, and yet...they didn't. That must mean it isn't an internal issue, it's external forces causing some kind of friction.

Bingo!

Look, I know you want every service available to be accessible to you. But there's so many rules, regulations, effort, and so many other things that cause companies to hold back. These aren't decisions that are made lightly. A lot of them are heavily calculated with laws, cost, and tons of other crazy reasons.

They want you to give them your money for the services they provide. Remember that. At the end of the day, sometimes it isn't in the hands of the owner nor the customer. It sucks, but that's just how it is.

Marketer | Entrepreneur | Student graduating May 2014
Introduction
I am a marketing student at the University of Central Florida with an eMarketing focus and double minors in both Entrepreneurship and Leadership Studies. I am passionate about marketing, especially Inbound Marketing, Event Management and Public Relations.

When I graduate from college, my goal is to work in marketing at an innovative tech company tackling challenges. Google is my top choice, and in June 2012, I attended the inaugural Google AdCamp Program in NYC to learn about more Google's advertising sales. I am also an "unofficial" Google Student Ambassador on my campus, assisting the Student Ambassador with events including those for Google recruiters.

I am very curious, so I also enjoy traveling, seeing new things, and meeting new people. I will never stop learning, and I will never settles for the status quo. I will always seek challenges to push myself to become better.

I am an avid Google+ user and supporter. I love the product, and the community here is second to none. Because of that, I am a writer and the Marketer Director for Google Plus Daily. We launched in January of 2013, and we are already the #1 source for Google+ news.

My opinion is my own and not that of my current or former employers.

The team at SODO Home Design Center are very helpful, and they have everything you need to do a remodel. I would strongly suggest others using them!

Downtown Avalon Park is a great place! There are plenty of nice restaurants, a coffee shop, a bakery, and a pond in the middle with a nice fountain. It's a nice place to just walk around and relax, especially since there is very little traffic or loud noises. They hold a few events here including a July 4th celebration with food trucks, vendors, and a great fireworks display over the pond.

The Ocoee Rafting team is very experienced and professional. We had a such a great time with them the first year that we went back for another trip the next summer. They make sure that everyone has a fun time. I would definitely recommend them to others!

The staff here was really nice especially since I arrived in a party of 150. Also, the rooms and lobby were clean and well kept. I also really enjoyed the fact that there were free cookies and water in the lobby at all times. There were some issues with some rooms not being ready for a while including after 4pm. Also, the cable in our room didn't work at first because the cable was a bit loose in its connection to the back of the TV. In addition, the fountain in front of the hotel was turned off the whole couple days I was there for some reason.

My younger brother (9th grade) receives alto saxophone lessons from Dan Ferri at DRF Music Studios. You can really see the improvements he's made since he started going! Dan has helped him to become a better and more passionate player. The space is small, but they do a good job of doing a lot with a small area. There are multiple practice rooms, some basic music essentials, and even a break area for parents to stay and relax while their child is receiving lessons. If you or a someone you know is looking for a place to get music lessons (especially saxophone), I definitely recommend DRF Music Studios!

UCF is a great university that doesn't get enough credit. That's partially because it's a relatively young university at just 50 years old. It's also partially due to our football team being in a lesser known conference. It is a large university and with that comes a lot of pros and cons. Yes, your classes are going to have more students in them, but you'll also have more opportunities (including more events for students, more student organizations to get involved with, and over time more alumni to connect with). As with any university, there are a few programs that are better than others. At UCF, that appears to be Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Marketing (specifically the Professional Selling Program).

Great quality frozen yogurt! I've been to Mochi many times, probably too many times, and it is always great! The frozen yogurt is never watery, and the toppings bar is always clean and stocked with toppings. I would say it's the best frozen yogurt shop in Orlando!
