Dr. Clark Hu is an enthusiastic educator and researcher with experiences in hospitality sales/marketing, consulting, and education. Before Clark works for Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Department of Hospitality Management, College of Business), he worked in Temple University's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management after his graduate education in both the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana and the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV), United States. In 2006, Dr. Hu became a tenured faculty and actively involved in international education. He was appointed to serve as an International Advisory Council Member to help advance Temple University's global initiatives and provide valuable insights as well as leadership to the Office of International Affairs in the University. In terms of research, Dr. Hu has published in a variety of referred journals and presented many professional conference papers based on his research work. He is also a three-time Best Paper Award winner in the annual International CHRIE (Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education) conferences in Marketing and Technology areas. His publications can be found in Annals of Tourism Research【SSCI】, Tourism Management【SSCI】, Journal of Travel Research【SSCI】, International Journal of Hospitality Management【SSCI】, Current Issues in Tourism, Tourism Analysis, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management【SSCI】, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research【SSCI】, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly【SSCI】, Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Education, Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing【SSCI】, Journal of Vacation Marketing, Event Management, etc. He sat or sits on the editorial review boards of the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management (formerly Journal of Hospitality and Leisure Marketing), Journal of China Tourism Research, Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Education, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, the official publication of the Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA), Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, and Journal of Human Resources in Hospitality and Tourism. Served as a board member for ISTTE (International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators), Dr. Hu has been an active member of many professional associations, including TTRA (Travel & Tourism Research Association), International CHRIE, IFITT (International Federation for IT and Travel Tourism), HSMAI (Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International), ISTTE, APTA, etc. His recent research and teaching focus has been on service management and marketing with emphasis on understanding customer reward programs, as well as knowledge management in tourism and hospitality industries.
