I interviewed 3 expert mentors in +Nashville in the back lounge of Chago's Cantina, my favorite hangout spot in the neighborhood. Scott Rouse, Jeff Louckes and Shawn Glinter share how to maximize your mentorship relationships.

I took the hour and a half interview and thinned it down to the highlighted points in this 20 minute recap interview. We posted various recap posts online, including +TechnologyAdvice.
Mentorships are critical to building relationships in companies and communities, but the mentor relationship is often misunderstood.

This is a new format I tried out for this +Nashville event that provided an overview of the evening. It's much more 'story' based and I did my best to capture the general narrative of this year's NEXT Awards. Let me know what you think! It's posted on +ec.co.
At the 4th Annual 2014 NEXT Awards, Ralph Schulz may have said it best: “What’s next for Nashville is sitting right here in this room.” As the President and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, he would know. Schulz, along with Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Nashville Entrepreneur Center CEO Michael Burcham, introduced the awards, calling all 60 finalists “job makers and prosperity makers,” and noting that “because of amazing ...

Thanks +Jake Jorgovan for letting me share my story on how freelancing got me to a job I love.

Podcasting has been a part of the journey, and it's great seeing you with your podcast now. Congrats on a successful launch!
Freelancing doesn't have to be a one way road. Instead, you can use it as a means of trying out different things while you seek your next employment opportunity. This weeks guest, Clark Buckner, began his career doing freelance design and branding work, yet ultimately his freelancing lifestyle lead him to an opportunity for full time employment that was too good to pass up.

In my podcast interview with +Jon Henshaw he shared the need-to-know aspects of how SSL impacts SEO. I think if this topic had a relationship status on Facebook, it would be "it's complicated."

My main take away is hold off on SSL for now to avoid the hit in organic traffic and rankings. However it's probably going to be something to invest in for the future of the site. If you make the switch, take the time to do it right!

Listen to Jon's responses and decide for yourself if now is the time to make the switch. +Raven Tools has some really useful tools and resources on this, too!

Entrepreneur pursuing my passions in marketing, branding and the power of online media.
Introduction
My name’s Clark. I’m a new media strategist. I feel most alive when I’m discovering innovative ways to create new opportunities from emerging technologies. I’ve found myself in the online digital media content creation world where I partner with individuals and organizations to create engaging and useful resources.

I’m an entrepreneur pursuing passions in marketing and branding. I also have a real passion for the power of online media syndication. I’m most interested in how remarkable ideas, when combined with remarkable people, can produce something exceptional. I strive to think creatively and connect the dots in a unique way. My first business was Buck Branding, a marketing & branding business specializing in elevating brands to the next level through the use of creative new media. I now work full time with a company called Technology Advice. I manage our comprehensive calendar of all major tech related conferences and events throughout the United States. I'm also a content creator in the online digital media space with a focus in podcasting.

I'm a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. I have a BBA in Entrepreneurship with an emphasis in Marketing.

I was also a co-founder with a company called Internpreneur. I also hosted and produced “ETPcast” with a pretty sweet team of folks.
