Oh... so true... "Modern logos require a new level of elasticity since they’re going to be used on signs, paper, tablets, web and in video

Spent a magical weekend hiking up to Lonesome Lake with kids, catching minnows, and cooking spaghetti and meatballs in the hut kitchen. Need to take a digital photography class because the colors in this photo are flat. The colors at the lake were rich purple-grays and blues.

The weather is cloudy, thats the reason why the colour are flat. But it has a perfect mirror.

Great article about how PIPA and SOPA could affect brands. This issue needs some sunshine!

I called Paul around midday today because our refrigerator died suddenly. He was here within a few hours and fixed it right up. He also gave me great advice about how to keep our dishwasher running better (I had no idea it had a filter that needed cleaning) and tips about how to clean the fridge vents every couple of years. I highly recommend Paul and Belmont Appliance Service!

Adorable little shop. Stopped in today with three kids and the ice cream was AWESOME. Plus they have a little case of chocolate treats that is over-the-top decadent. Since they just opened I don't think a lot of people have seen it (large sign isn't up yet) but I hope they get lots of business.

[Edit to this review at bottom.] I am sitting in the waiting room of Mass Eye & Ear at this moment and feel compelled to write. If I was judging MEEI based on quality healthcare alone, they would receive an "excellent" rating. A year ago I had a detached retina and they repaired the retina through surgery and am now seeing 100%. Incredible results and Dr. Eliot is phenomenal. Based on customer service, MEEI is as bad as it gets. When I have an appointment at 1pm, I'm never out until 6pm. Once I was here until 8pm. I arrived today and they had no record of my appointment. Now they are "squeezing me in" which is sure to mean I'm here until well after dark. I wish I understood what drives the long waits at MEEI. Do they not use support staff effectively to move patients along? Do they schedule too many appointments in a single day (likely). Are there too few patient rooms to increase throughput? What's more, when I had surgery a year ago the information they sent me home with was so totally inadequate that I ended up relying on Google for my post-op care. Seriously? They must do the type of surgery I had about 10 times per day. Why on earth can they not develop better patient instructions??? What I do know is that it's painfully frustrating to be a patient at MEEI. I will continue to come here because the level of expertise is unmatched. But the experience of being a patient at MEEI is miserable. By the way, Iive 15 minutes away. Consider how those who live an hour + away and how they feel!! [Edit a year later: I've now had two appointments in a row that ran relatively smoothly. In and out in approximately 3 hours, which is a huge improvement. So I pushed the score up from 3 to 4.]

Stayed at the Currier House this past weekend for a late-night hike of Mt. Monadnock to see the comet ISON. Nancy was such a nice host. She was so welcoming and helpful despite our strange request to slip out of the inn at 3am for a hike. She prepared a full breakfast on our return of eggs, sausage, toast and a delicious baked apple. And the coffee was heavenly (I'm picky about coffee). We'd love to come back.

Unbelievably delicious roasted nuts. Fastachi has become my new go-to for business gifts. The store itself is also a gem... beautiful displays and selection. That little neighborhood has become quite the little foodie experience. (Fastachi is right down the road from Sofra, which is another must-visit in Watertown/Belmont.)

Great family ski resort. Sent three children to their mountain school program, and all three had a blast. High level of customer service. Nice, clean lodge. Lift lines move very quickly. Overall, a great little mountain.

We found Gary's Barber Shop through online yellow pages, and they were so nice to us I felt I had to leave a review. Even though the shop had already closed on a Saturday, they let us come in to get haircuts for our twin boys. Lucy cut the boys' hair and was so sweet. The haircuts came out great. We'll be back!
