Lovely little creation of a 'now and next' for BBC radio stations with a design like Ceefax. Interesting to read how it says it's changed his listening habits.
On Now and Next. November 28, 2011. TL;DR: Blog more; blog often. I made a thing. Now & Next is a glanceable for BBC Radio. It tells you what's on the main BBC (Analogue and Digital) Radio Cha...

Just had a play with my sister watching a youtube video while 'hanging out'. Lovely stuff. Made me really understand the potential of hangouts for teaching as well as fun.

I've put together a bunch of social media screencasts in scoop.it (very easy to use curation tool). The short screencasts are useful as how-tos for beginners and also as refreshers. They cover facebook privacy, finding interesting people to follow on twitter, how to create twitter lists, setting up a listening dashboard using RSS etc

Yesterday in a training session with journalists I was running people were asking me about whether they needed to be worried about Google+ as well. I said "wait and see. Biggest potential Google+ has is the way it can link to other Google products." Et voila.
Journalists' Google+ profiles to be integrated into Google News. Posted by Michael P. Hill | No responses Tweet. Google News will soon begin spotlighting the profiles of journalists who maintain G...

Hmmm. I gotta say that while I see the benefit the way that it is likely to be executed is likely to be amateur at best. Waiting for the killer use of the API.

Just created three new delicious stacks. One listing the best social journalism tools, one listing the best journalism blogs and one listing the best uses of audience collaboration in journalism. I'd love to hear about any additions you think should be included.

I've updated a group of screencast tutorials on Facebook, Twitter, Tweetdeck, Google, RSS. Useful for sharing with complete beginners or even if you want to update your knowledge. But just realised I need to do some G+ ones.

If this is true, it's a lovely tale.
Richard Gingras originally shared:

Why are software problems called bugs? Grace Hopper was a pioneer in computing and worked at the Harvard Computation Laboratory on the early Mark computers. She love to recount the origins of the term. In 1946, there was a problem with the Mark II that operators traced to a moth trapped in a relay, coining the term bug. This bug was carefully removed and taped to the log book. Thus, the origin of errors or glitch's in a program being called a bug.
