Holly, your writing is as beautiful as your painting. It is deep and insightful, and most touching. I send you my love and hugs. xo, Claire.
Grieving is like an altered state. Reality shifts in imperceptible ways. Memories and imagination trip over each other in the mind. Four and a half months ago Walt died. I still can't believe it when I type that sentence. I s...

A #painting  that I did before getting on the plane to #Mexico... Can you tell? My colour choices give it away! View original painting on my web site: http://www.clairedesjardins.com/Artwork-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=762&NewID=13308&resize=1
Things can change in the blink of an eye. I have heard that so many times before. Life is like that... Just like that. Acrylics, graphite and charcoal on canvas.

I wish it could all be this easy... ! My newest #painting  (painted while I was in Mexico... Look at the #colors  of Mexico!) is posted! http://www.clairedesjardins.com/Artwork-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=292&NewID=13305&resize=1 #clairedesjardins   #originalartwork   #originalart   #abstractpainting
When things are easy, aren't they great? But then again, I think that we need to be reminded, when things are great. If it's too easy, sometimes we forget the struggle.

"Plain Face" is the 2nd #painting in a 2-part series. The other one is called "Makeup Face". Both are similarly fashioned #portraits. View it on my web site: http://www.clairedesjardins.com/Artwork-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=301&NewID=7856&resize=1  #pink   #abstractart   #abstractpainting   #clairedesjardins
Without makeup, clean skin, fresh and youthful... Pale-skinned, with rosy, flushed cheeks. Painted on wood panel.

I have a new #painting  uploaded, called "Listen Carefully". Check it out and let me know what you think! http://clairedesjardins.com/Artwork-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=762&NewID=13699&resize=1 #abstractart   #abstractpainting   #clairedesjardins   #claire_desjardins_art
It's all quiet, except for the whir of wind. Listen very carefully, and you will hear it.

"Something Clicked" is about that moment when you realize something-- Something that had been there, the entire time, yet you never noticed it. #abstractpainting   #abstractart   #originalartwork   #clairedesjardins   #originalart
It happened, as though a light went on, inside my head: the answer suddenly became as clear as day.

This is the larger of my largest #paintings  that I created, while at my self-directed #artist  residency, in #Mexico . It’s 90 inches wide, and 48 inches tall. Inspired by the #colors  and #textures  of the town I stayed in, it’s called “Cobblestones of San Miguel”. View it on my web site, here: http://www.clairedesjardins.com/Artwork-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=802&NewID=13307&resize=1  #painting   #abstractart   #abstractpainting   #clairedesjardins
The uneven cobblestones of San Miguel wind through the oldest parts of the colourful town. I imagine the hundreds of years' worth of traffic that have ridden and walked along the paths that find their ways into the heart of the village, atop the mountain. I will go back. I used mostly acrylic paints, but I also used graphite, charcoal, and conte.

Beneath the surface, it is always there, but will never reveal itself. Mixed media: acrylics, conte, charcoal, graphite.

A simplified #portrait   #painting  of someone wearing a lot of makeup! My little painting, "Makeup Face" is now available on my web site: http://www.clairedesjardins.com/Artwork-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=301&NewID=7857&resize=1 #clairedesjardins   #originalartwork   #abstractpainting
A face painted onto a face. The expression is altered for effect, and sensation. Pinker lips enhance the sense of appeal. Or so it is hoped. Painted on wood panel.
