German railways are vulnerable to new terror threats that might happen at any time, after a 17-year-old refugee injured four people with an ax on a commuter train, police have warned, while highlighting fears of reciprocal violence from the far right.

Railways in Germany are subject to increased security threats “that can manifest themselves in a successful attack at any time,” the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) said in an internal report cited by Focus magazine...

How is redemption after abortion possible? Add a second abortion, abuse, an eating disorder, promiscuity, homelessness and drugs and it seems like a dark path to nowhere.

Ask Tam Hodge (pictured) about redemption today and you will get a very different answer than you would have before Aug. 19, 1990. That’s the day she handed her heart, bruised and battered, over to God. She will tell you that’s the day everything changed....

Fifty years ago today, the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Bill [subsequently the Abortion Act 1967] passed its Second Reading in the House of Commons with a massive vote of 223 votes for and 29 against.

SPUC calculates that, so far, 8,624,567 innocent lives have been lost under the 1967 Abortion Act.

It’s instructive to consider the the pro-abortion lobby’s claims in 1966 in the second reading debate and during subsequent debates on this tragic legislation:

“…it is not the intention of the promoters of the Bill to leave a wide open door for abortion on request.” (David Steel, Hansard 5th Series, Vol 732, col 1075, 22 July, 1966)
“Nobody is advocating abortion on demand in this Committee or anywhere else…” (David Steel, Standing Committee F, 15 February 1967, col 250)
“It is certainly not a general licence to a medical practitioner to carry out an abortion on anybody who desires it.” (Lord Silkin, sponsor of the Abortion Act 1967 in the House of Lords, Hansard, 19 July 1967, col 263)...

A new report released Thursday by members of British Parliament highlighted the mistreatment of doctors who refuse to perform abortions in the nation. The report revealed that those entering the medical field undergo “harassment and abuse” if they refuse to promote or do abortions.

The report found that British doctors who oppose abortion are exposed to “widespread and increasing pressure” to become involved in abortions, Christian Today reported. The MPs discovered that upon refusal to perform abortions, many doctors and nurses were restricted from entering certain medical fields....

In the U.S., an estimated 600,000 human embryos are frozen and in storage at hospitals and infertility clinics.

Some will be implanted in women’s wombs in in vitro fertilization with the hope that they will grow and be born; but the fate of the others is less certain. Some may be used later when the couple attempts to get pregnant again, others may be discarded or donated to research. But as awareness increases about embryos, who are very young but living human beings, some are taking a different, life-affirming route and adopting them....

Pope Francis has sent a telegram to the Master General of the Order of Preachers – the Dominicans – who are currently holding the General Chapter of Priors Provincial in the central Italian city of Bologna.

The General Chapter of Priors General is the second of three specific kinds of General Chapters, each being held at three-year intervals for a 9-year cycle that ends with the election of a new Master General. The sequence begins with General Chapter of delegates – called “diffinitors” in Dominican parlance; then the General Chapter of Priors Provincial; and then, the Elective General Chapter....

Exploiting a national tragedy about killing to advocate more killing is indefensible. But that’s what Planned Parenthood did.

A pitfall of social media such as Facebook and Twitter is that we can find ourselves saying something we shouldn’t.

While most of us can delete the offending message before too much damage is done, well-known people and organizations can’t. By the time they realize their mistake, it’s been widely seen, forwarded, and captured for posterity...

Turkish newspapers are reporting that criminal charges have been filed against six personnel at a hospital in Turkish Cyprus allegedly for illegally performing abortions on babies who “had developed beyond five months old, including at least one full-term fetus,” and then secretly burying them.

Included are the “hospital’s owners, head physician, a doctor, an obstetrician, and a nurse,” according to Turkish Weekly. The babies’ remains were initially found in February buried in a field in Kyrenia....
