We looked at many kitchen design stores as well as the "big box" stores. City Cabinets beat their prices and best of all you got PERSONAL ATTENTION. Their staff knowledge is excellent. They worked 1 on 1 and the designer came out during the installation to ensure it was done properly. Speaking of installation, their cost to install our kitchen shredded the competition (we are talking thousands less). We are very happy and will do business with them again.

It was a long way before I found City Cabinets Center. I was going to renew my kitchen and bathroom cabinets at the very beginning. Then people suggested me to refacing them for better result. When I was almost ready to do refacing I found City Cabinets Center. Their price is very competitive. It only cost me a few hundreds more to get NEW cabinets than refacing. What am I wait for??? Plus JADE is very professional and patient to help me get through everything. I wish I didn't have to waste time to shopping around. Installation date was almost one week earlier than what I thought! Thank you very much guys!!!! I will go back to you guys again when I buy my next house.------who knows when though.LoL...

This designer steps out of the box to create an open, all-glass kitchen addition to a traditional cottage.
Sometimes with period properties, the best way to extend isn’t to copy what’s already there, but to do something completely different. And this was certainly the way kitchen designer Alex Saint of Bulthaup by Kitchen Architecture was thinking when he approached this quintessential thatched cottage in Knutsford, England. Rather than attempt a traditional brick addition, he decided, along with the homeowners and the local planning authorities, to g...

With the new year here many people are asking about what the next big thing is going to be this season.
What will the kitchen of tomorrow look like? Just ask the people building and planning the kitchens of today. With that in mind, we asked homeowners in 11 countries — the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Denmark — through a series of discussions, polls, surveys and interviews to describe the ins and outs of kitchen projects they had recently completed, have underway or are planning to st...

With 2016 around the corner, let's revisit some of 2015's popular kitchens.
All-white kitchens have reigned for the past few years, but in 2015 big changes were afoot. This was the year of mostly white kitchens. Seriously though, it was a big year for color, and we watched all sorts of hues find their way back into the kitchen. Though the most popular kitchen photos that Houzzers saved to their ideabooks ranged greatly in size and style, one common thread was personality. Designers and homeowners rebuffed many of the san...

A designer in London creates continuity between historic architecture and modern interior design.
When the owners purchased this home, it had already been extended at the back, but poorly. “A sort of outhouse had been incorporated into the building,” says Trevor Brown of Trevor Brown Architect, whom the clients enlisted to remedy the situation. Although the owners initially wanted just to improve what was already there, after a few discussions with Brown, it became clear that much more potential could be unlocked with a new addition.

A historic building in Oxfordshire, England gets a modern redesign for a couple with visiting grown-up children.
This old blacksmith’s forge in Oxfordshire, England, needed a considerable amount of work after it was purchased. “The whole place was completely gutted and redone by the clients,” says kitchen designer Marcus Watkins, “and we were involved with designing the concept for the kitchen area.” When it came to their kitchen, the owners were interested in doing something a little different from the rest of the house. “They were excited by the idea of a...

A fresh white modern design opens up this small galley kitchen in New York City.
Big-city dwellers are used to living in small spaces. But they also know a few tricks for making things feel a little more spacious. Faced with a stifling muddy-toned kitchen with a low ceiling and a window that had been painted over so many times, it wouldn’t open, German couple Daniel and Claudia Mahler exercised some clever moves to make their space more open. Working with designer Cecilia Dupire, they reconfigured the layout, raised the ceili...

An old country styled kitchen in Michigan gets a modern rework.
Christopher and Katie Conti loved being able to walk to restaurants and shops near their 100-year-old English farmhouse in Birmingham, Michigan. But walking through the kitchen was much less thrilling. A bulky reach-in pantry disrupted traffic flow, while a powder room took up additional prime floor space. Plus, floral wallpaper, distressed knotty pine cabinets and hard-to-clean clay tile counters didn’t suit the owners’ tastes. Working with kitc...

The place between traditional and modern isn't always easy to find, but looks amazing when it's found.
The designers of Bates Corkern Studio skillfully married the past and present.

Adding a touch of style to your kitchen island can add a lot of personality to it.
The kitchen island or peninsula is often the home’s hub, where family and friends gather to help with the cooking (or just the eating). This central position makes it an important design feature and a great place to add personality to your kitchen. Re-dressing the island can provide a dramatic face-lift on any budget. Here are 10 of my favorite ideas you can use to give the heart of the house a little love.
