The Education Ministry has clarified that 8,886 from 9,889 schools nationwide have already been equipped with the 1BestariNet service.

The Ministry said YTL Communications (YTLC), the company which was awarded the project, had yet to equip 1,003 schools with the service as it had not obtained a permit for the construction of telecommunications towers, specifically in Sarawak, Penang and Kelantan.
PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry has clarified that 8,886 from 9,889 schools nationwide have already been equipped with the 1BestariNet service.

Are Cellphone Towers Near Your Home Dangerous For You?

WHO's IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) Classifies RF EMF as Possibly Carcinogenic to Humans (Group 2B) based on an increased risk for glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer, associated with wireless phone use. IARC issued an official press release, and a summary of the evaluation was published on July 1, 2010 in The Lancet Oncology.

A group of disgruntled Tanjung Bungah residents staged a protest at the entrance of the Federation School for the Deaf (SMK Pendidikan Khas Persekutuan) in Jalan Lembah Permai as they were against the presence of a #4G/#Wimax #tower  on a hilly slope of the school. 

The protest was led by the #Penang   #EMF  #Radiation Protection Association on Tuesday.

On 29/March/2014, the #European   #Commission  published recasts of 8 #CE  marking directives. Here are 3 that changed:

#EMC  Directive is now 2014/30/EU (previously 2004/108/EC)
Low Voltage Directive ( #LVD ) is now 2014/35/EU (previously 2006/95/EC)
#ATEX  Directive is now 2014/34/EU (previously 94/9/EC)

The new directives enter into force on 19/April/2014, and Member States have until 20/April/2016 to amend their national legislation, as the old directives will be repealed then.
