We have a limited number of KAWAI R100 R-ROM switcher kits available on the site.

The kit allows you to freely switch between the sound ROM's for the R100, R50 and R50e drum machines, along with space for a custom ROM if you ever come across one. Two ROM's are included, so you have to remove the ROM you currently have in your machine and install it into the board for the full set.
Its a solder free kit, so all you need to install it is a drill and a screwdriver.

Theres an added bonus in that all the solder points we use for our R100 Drum Destruction patchbay mods are bought out to easily accessible solder points on the left and right of the board.

In terms of the electronics it would also work in a R50 and R50e, but as to whether its would physically fit, we haven't tried it so we don't know.

KAWAI R100 ROM switcher.

The sound ROM's from the Kawai R100, R50 and R50e drum machines are completely interchangable. This board allows you to mount all three in one machine, with a spare space for another custom ROM if you ever get hold of one. The ROM's are selected with a rotary switch.

We should have this available as a solder free kit at some point soon.

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me, a short write up on our pair of modded Alesis Nanoverbs, both the original and the Nanoverb 2.

It includes a new demo of the original version, courtesy of a 1960's US government guide to the importance of protecting your livestock in case of a nuclear attack!
Even if you're not interested in circuit bending, we'd advise having a listen anyway. It never hurts to be prepared! ;-)

We have Korg Poly800 MDK kits available on the site.
The Midi Dump Kit is a DIY mod for the Korg Poly800 mkI. It adds the ability to load and save sound banks to and from your computer as midi sysex data. Normal Poly800 mkI's do not have this ability, so you have to save and load data from the tape interface.
This was initially a personal project, but after mentioning it we had a few requests for kits. Theres 10 kits available for starters. If we manage to shift them quickly we'll put together some more.
