Try #GoogleKeep to share your shopping list this holiday season. We hear that’s the way it’s done at the North Pole. http://goo.gl/cymAfo

My open letter to Google Inbox

I have complex feelings about Google's new interface to Gmail. So I thought I'd write Inbox an email to talk about it:

Very thought provoking article. I'm still digesting this so don't know how I feel about it just yet, but it certainly provides lots to ponder on.
The experience of our primary mobile screen being a bank of app icons that lead to independent destinations is dying. And that changes… Read more…

Really excited about our big news, announcement of Alphabet!
As Sergey and I wrote in the original founders letter 11 years ago, “Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one.” As part of that, we also said that you could expect us to make “smaller bets in areas that might seem very speculative or even strange when compared to our ...

Google Play Services update adds Trusted Places Smart Lock

For those that don't know, Smart Lock is essentially what Motorola used to call Trusted Bluetooth Devices on the Moto X. These devices are paired Bluetooth devices that when paired will disable your lock screen security so that you don't have to constantly enter your PIN, Password, or Pattern while a Bluetooth device you know and trust is connected. Smart Lock was just updated to add Trusted Places as well. This means, while at let's say work, home, or another GPS location, your lock screen security will be disabled too.

One of the most unexpected uses I found in +Inbox by Gmail is bookmarking (aka read it later) for content that arrives through email. The most interesting is that you can schedule your bookmarks to appear in your inbox when it is more likely that you will be able to read them. I do not know if you can do this with some other tool.

OK, +Inbox by Gmail rocks. Two small details:

The good one: Go back to inbox from a bundle view with swipe up and swipe down.

The bad one: all past reminders (set in google now) are automatically pinned when you start using the app. As a consequence your first inbox is full of past (and in most cases Done) reminders
