If Costa Rica wasn't a good place to live , then why is it becoming increasingly popular as destination? Pura Vida!

In Costa Rica doesn't matter what time of year you visit, if conditions on one coast are less than ideal, all you have to do is travel a short distance overland to find another costal paradise.

If you're into marine life and top-notch diving/snorkeling you should visit Caño Island Biological Reserve.

There is nothing better than waking up every day and being inspired by Costa Rica's wonderful ambience.

Many people wonder if it is possible to work, take care of a family and have time to relax. That is the day to day in Costa Rica or ‪#‎PuraVida‬.

San Jose's Sabana Park is a small version of New York’s Central Park and is the perfect place for a long walk.

Some Ticos will complain that bus travel is bad, but compared to many parts the United States, bus service is actually quite impressive!

This is a colorful oxcart, elaborately painted carriages that were once used to transport highland coffee to port. Beautiful art!

Costa Rica's biodiversity includes an abundance of flora as well as fauna. The colors and forms of plant life here are hard to match.

There are many established expat communities throughout the Central Valley; Grecia, Atenas and Lake Arenal.

What is the first thing you look for when you're choosing a place for living? I'll bet Costa Rica has it.

Introduction

My name is Christopher Howard and I have lived in Costa Rica almost 34 years. I love this wonderful little country so much that I became a citizen 14 years ago. I explored Latin America for many years prior to moving here and came to the conclusion that Costa Rica was by far the best country in which to live south of the border. What really brought me to Latin America in the first place was my love for the Spanish language.

I also really enjoy my work and have written four very popular guides to help those who want to relocate here: 17 editions of the New Golden Door to Retirement and Living in Costa Rica – the official guide to relocation, the Official Guide to Costa Rica Spanish, the Guide to Real Estate in Costa Rica and the Costa Rican Legal System for Dumbbells. See www.costaricabooks.com for all of the details.

I have also conducted monthly relocation/retirement tours for the last 16 years. My tours have been featured on the NBC Today Show, CNBC World Business News, Fox News and in many publications. For more information please see www.liveincostarica.com

My job is really rewarding in that I have helped 1000s of people move here successfully and changed their lives for the better.
