Prepping for our Memorial Day Weekend Micro-Con. This will be our 4th one. Two days of booze, brews, BBQ & Gaming. With the crowd estimated to be about 16 to 20 player's (easily 50 or 60 people but most just spectate) we are going to run an EPIC Custom ZOMBICIDE Black Plague Campaign. Should be fun, can run 16 player's at a time. Sweet custom rules. We will run teams of players in a kind of competitive system.

We have a half a pig to roast and TONS of frosty cold beverages.

Anyone else with gaming plans this holiday weekend?

Having issues with my group "Gaming The System" pretty hardcore. It's only 2 player's and when I put my foot down one retreated and has been inactive at the table while the other seems to challenge everything. Grown adults that I've gamed with for years. When we discuss the issues they do t have any input. Are they bored, don't like the direction the campaign is taking? I'm unsure as they offer no input. I'm stumped. I think they don't like the system.

So I'm going to throw them a curve ball. They just hit 3rd level. They reside in an old manor outside of town they where fixing up. Think it's time the mists of Ravenloft sweep them and their manor to Barovia. I want to just throw them in the deep end and run Curse of Strand.

Today In My Campaign Wyrld;

HOLIDAYS & FESTIVE OCCASIONS

Spring – known as the season 'PRIME' by the Church. It is a time of fertility & rebirth. When one gives thanks for the past and looks to the future seeing the great possibilities.

The First Festive Occasion is “The Resurrection” (Easter). It is held at the end of the first week of PRIME. This Festive occasion lasts 3 days in which followers give thanks and prayer for making it through winter (resurrecting a new year) and prays for the new year to come. This festival is highlighted in several different ways and traditions.

One of the staple traditions of Festival of The Resurrection is the idea of hard-boiling and painting of eggs, usually chicken or duck eggs. Great effort is put into making these painted eggs works of art. They are then given as gifts to friends and family, whom then place them on their dinner tables. At the 1st supper of PRIME the mother or head woman of the household eats the first egg symbolizing fertility and rebirth. Then each child is given an egg to eat, symbolizing their birth, followed lastly by the father. Any extra eggs are then consumed by any other members of the household and everyone at dinner. This along with some simple wine is all that's consumed for the 1st meal of PRIME and marks the beginning of the Sabbath.

The following day is spent reflecting on what was, being thankful for making it through another winter and visualizing through prayer what will be. It is a day filled with prayer and community bonding. No food is to be consumed from the 1st meal until sun down the following day, though water is allowed.
The 2nd evening after Sabbath another simple meal is to be taken, this usually consists of a meat and grain with water only. Stories are often read before bedtime and family prayer lasts into the night.

The 3rd and last day is one of festive merriment. Families and communities usually get together and enjoy games and activities along with a large noontime feasts that carry over into the dinner hours. Children enjoy sweet candied treats that are hid in a game of hide & seek, demonstrating that effort is required to obtain something good. Families often retire promptly at dusk and get a good nights rest before they begin the hard work of planting that follows the next day.

EPIC Session yesterday. We rolled with a full table. The Fang Clan showed up and layed siege to the Manor. After a long fought battle our band was victorious. They then marched on the Bullywug village to recover kidnapped henchmen and villagers. Success!

Rumors of the undead & Ghûls prowling the Ruins peaked their interested. Scouting the area they came upon a small army if Ghûls & retreated to make plans...

Taking a break next week for the holidays so we went a little longer. A good time was had by all, so it was a WIN!
