We have just published a new report on the venture philanthropists, the 254 people who run venture philanthropy in the UK.

This is a growth sector - income of the sector is 221% up compared with 2011, when we last reported. And more organisations are benefiting - we list more than 150.

The #Snowden  allegations have made me really grumpy. If they are true, then the Government has undermined years of work, debate and effort by prospect researchers to protect privacy. I've written a diatribe to the Information Commissioner.
Dear Mr Graham. It must be tough being the Information Commissioner today. This morning's newspaper will be a crumpled mess on your breakfast table after you read more of the revealing allegations from Edward Snowden. The Government that pays you to keep our private stuff private has also been ...

Hot, fast, tasty Bangladeshi food, and plenty of it for your Euro. But this place illustrates the problems with Google's star system of evaluation; I'm giving it four stars, but don't expect silver service and waiters in black suits; this is a Bangla street café.

The best wee cafe restaurant on Canna! Very friendly team, relaxed atmosphere, very good food (I has a delicious Canna rabbit stew.) Lovely wee white cottage on the bay.

Inventive, fresh, delicious food in a lovely setting (an old stone building in the side streets of Granollers), with attentive staff. Excellent.

Original decor and a very good selection of food; try their tapas and you'll see how inventive they are. Good selection of wines and local beers. Includes a relaxed bar area, a cocktail bar and a restaurant.

Excellent. Beautiful building in Modernist style - reminded me of Charles Rennie McIntosh - and selection of wines to taste, included in entry price.

Friendly wee bar set up by a group of young people who have created a place that anyone, young or old, can feel comfortable in. Good food, made on the premises, and a range of local beers.
