This self-portrait of NASA's Curiosity Mars rover shows the vehicle at 'Namib Dune,' where the rover's activities included scuffing into the dune with a wheel and scooping samples of sand for laboratory analysis.
A fantastic, entertaining and highly educational talk. It always bothers me that I can't play the piano and talk at the same time (my wife usually asks me things while I'm playing). But David can even type concurrent Python code in Emacs in Allegro vivace speed and talk about it at the same time. An expert in concurrency in every sense of the word. How enviable!
A simple and visually appealing explanation of Markov chains. I expect and hope in the future such live demos and interactive notebooks like those provided by project Juypter will replace dry and static textbooks. Wished to be a student again.
Beneficial and hilarious as usual - Raymond considered super. The first part was a bit difficult to follow though, without a visual diagram of the family tree. Apart from that, I liked the presentation style using only Emacs.
