Gotta love those sneaky early Roman priests and their funhouse antics!

There is an excavation/archeological site uncovering a two thousand year old underground temple in the bay of Naples, apparently duplicating a trip to mythical Hades.  Located near an active volcano, its hot, sulfurous, full of weird twists and secret passages, and once thought to be a gate to the underworld. At one point along the path, you have to cross boiling hot water, signifying the river Styx. It's not yet fully explored, and isn't getting a lot of attention.

To put this another way.

Archaeologists found a gate to hell near Naples. What could possibly go wrong?

The Cumæan sibyl and this cave are definitely going to be making an appearance in my RPG mage game.

Fantastic idea! Can't wait to see the finished product. +_+

The TARDIS corset, in rough-out of the placement for the first panels. When finished, it'll have lights, sounds, and a key. The phone door will be white, and will open. And yes, you ARE bigger on the inside. (Petrichor Perfume not included.) Check for updates as the project progresses both here and at:

Excellent TED talk about the problems with the education system of post-Industrial Revolution Western Civilization...degree "inflation," ruthless "strip-mining" of talent, and the implicit hierarchy that places things like music, art, and dance at the very bottom of educational regard.

I may not be able to shed a single tear over this news, but I'll gladly wave goodbye to Netflix's Qwikster idiocy.

Dear Christina,

It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.

This means no change: one website, one account, one password…in other words, no Qwikster.

While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.

We're constantly improving our streaming selection. We've recently added hundreds of movies from Paramount, Sony, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, MGM and Miramax. Plus, in the last couple of weeks alone, we've added over 3,500 TV episodes from ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, USA, E!, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Discovery Channel, TLC, SyFy, A&E, History, and PBS.

We value you as a member, and we are committed to making Netflix the best place to get your movies & TV shows.

Respectfully,

The Netflix Team

Enema...reset button...something!

The thing about TED is that, on the one hand, it is disheartening that it's not mainstream and most of the presenters are comparatively obscure, but it's also comforting and downright amazing to be able to watch these presentations and feel slightly giddy, expanded, and perhaps even hopeful afterward. And I think they're all, ultimately, a call-to-arms--forcing us to realise we can always dream bigger and do better.
