Inappropriately investigating a candidate online can land a company in hot water.

You can either use your data to make better decisions or ignore it and get left behind.

Like it or not, unknowingly using words improperly can make you look unintelligent or uneducated.

Take it from this successful CEO--you can't have everything. But you can be smart about your choices.

Some of these make me chuckle.
If you want to make a good impression you'll never make these grammatical errors.

I take issue with the last point. While I choose not to use "irregardless," it assuredly is a word -- but it's not popular, and it's not (yet) become standard. (What's a word? Do you understand it when you hear it, regardless of twitching afterward? Then it's a word, like it or not.)

That's from 2012. (For those disinclined to click, it's one of the lexicographers at Merriam-Webster, discussing the issue.)

"Just because a word's a word, doesn't mean you should use it." That about sums it up. ;-)

Take it from this CEO whose resume includes stints at both Lehman Brothers and Enron.

This: " Build a relationship with followers who trust that your motives go beyond just wanting their dollars."

And #6.

It's all about building relationships with people. Customer service.... not sales. The best sites, in my opinion anyway, are those that perform outreach and educate. That show that they're more than a corporation, and that there's a real passion there. Especially smaller companies.

Too often, it's forgotten that it's SOCIAL media. Between PEOPLE. There are very few companies that I "follow". The ones that I do, it's because they bring something positive into my feeds. They stoke my sense of adventure or educate. Their promotions are not just them trying to sell crap, but done in a way that's more like, "we have an opportunity to do something cool for you....".

Even reputable websites have been caught screwing up these idioms, which spell check often doesn't find.

Yeesh! I didn't realize that many of these were so commonly used. I guess I'm fortunate to be surrounded by well educated people. :)
