Container wars in full swing ...

I wonder what Google and the other Kubernetes supporters make of this.
Docker, the 800-pound gorilla of container technology, has recently added a new and very important trick to its magic act: Orchestration. For musicians, orchestration means writing music for a particular musical group. For those us in IT, orchestration is the automated installation, ...

Interesting insight into Microsoft's POV within the AI game. I don't agree with everything here (mobile web and apps are dead ?) but it's a welcome glimpse into Microsoft's AI vision.

Inside Satya Nadella’s plan to outsmart Google:
Satya Nadella bounded into the conference room, eager to talk about intelligence. I was at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, WA, and the company’s CEO was touting the company's progress in...

I love live music but there's one concert I constantly return to for the last two years since I first discovered it. "Jeff Beck live at ronnie scott's" has such an intimate atmosphere, has great songs which are played by musicians which are masters of their respective instruments and is spiced up by amazing guest artists. And I simply adore the bass solo of Tal Wilkenfeld on this one ... https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=fsd6Khak2Ug

Today I ruined my day early on, but in a good way. It started out when I began to research the story of Nadia Murad, a Yazidi human rights activist who survived the hell of ISIS enslavement. The story is not for the faint of heart and if you don't keep your imagination under control it will leave you crying at this abyss of humanity. And I'm sure parts of the story will keep returning into my mind for days leaving me heartbroken and depressed for a moment everytime. I spare you the details, Google is your friend and you should decide for yourself at which pace you approach this story.
When I finally realized that Nadia Murad is living nearby nowadays, in Stuttgart, her story hit me close to home.
Pride is usually not in my genes, "feeling proud" is an suspicious sentiment to me and I start to feel uncomfortable. But when I read this recent tweet from Nadia Murad I couldn't help but to feel proud that the regional government of my home in Baden-Württemberg is doing the right thing.
And the next time somebody is suggestively asking me why there are so many refugees I will ask them to research Nadia's story and then come back and tell me face-to-face if he still has trouble grasping the cruel reality.
