Putting together a good or even great conference is a tough job. With so many parties involved, you easily get into a mental state of trying to please everyone.

Seeing so many smaller conferences like Tellerrand and UIKonf thrive makes me happy. Their goal is to bring together people and facilitate awesomeness. Focussing on this goal seems to be be a success factor for them.
These are good points for me to consider when organizing a conference. Thanks!
