You nailed it. It's a rainy kind of place.

Been busy with other machinery but New Years day cleared the streets of Kuala Lumpur and lured me and CruzinSpeed out for an early ride. Nice!

Thanks Gary. After a couple of months of evil haze from Indonesia I can't tell how pleasing this view is.

On June 16 I embarked on a tour from Phuket to Hua Hin, Thailand. The ride took us along the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Hilly and rainy, it wasn't as idyllic as hoped. Nonetheless, I was with great friends, and I didn't lose an ounce of weight.

Thanks Gary. Yeah, last year I lived on Hammer Perpetuem. This year my riding buddies insisted on eating real food. Imagine!

As per Gary's request, a little about me. I'm not a brand new member but haven't been formally introduced.

I ride a self-built Cruzbike conversion. It folds and fits in a suitcase. I have CVT on the wheel and the movable BB, so no gears/sprockets. Despite it's diminutive size, it's a very capable bicycle. I live and work in Kuala Lumpur where I'm challenged with steep hills, gnarly traffic and very bicycle un-friendly streets. On long weekends I pack it up to northern Thailand where riding is far more pleasant. Last year I rode the little guy from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. In about a month I'll be riding from Phuket to Bangkok.

I've been a recumbent rider for 15 years and doubt I'll consider any other way to ride.

I haven't weighed it recently, but it's heavy. The Nuvinci hub, the PM and the kit add a lot of weight. I'm guessing 15-16kg. I know it doesn't look it...

Vientiane, Laos. I enjoyed a couple of days of bicycle riding in town, along the Mekong and in the green and rolling hills beyond.

Ha! That trailer is a recycling vehicle. I saw several of them, all hand-drawn.

Nothing like the empty city streets of New Years day to coax the machinery out the door.

I'm afraid the Burley top cover is permanently dirty. 16 years old.

7 days, 650 wet and steamy kilometers, Phuket to Hua Hin, Thailand. This year was a true social ride with friends Al Auringer and Sergio Chavez.

Now that's quite an accomplishment. A celebration well earned!

I was finally able to get my old Burley Nomad (circa 2001) to work with the CruzinSpeed. I first had to modify all the fabric and the frame for left-hand drive traffic. Further modifications allowed it to comfortably hitch to a 20" wheel. It tows like a dream, though I've yet to load it up. Ready for the next tour.
