I'm afraid the Burley top cover is permanently dirty. 16 years old.

7 days, 650 wet and steamy kilometers, Phuket to Hua Hin, Thailand. This year was a true social ride with friends Al Auringer and Sergio Chavez.

Now that's quite an accomplishment. A celebration well earned!

I was finally able to get my old Burley Nomad (circa 2001) to work with the CruzinSpeed. I first had to modify all the fabric and the frame for left-hand drive traffic. Further modifications allowed it to comfortably hitch to a 20" wheel. It tows like a dream, though I've yet to load it up. Ready for the next tour.

Angkor Wat was first a Hindu, later a Buddhist, temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world. Located near Siem Reap, Cambodia, we've spent several days wandering and climbing through the extensive ruins. I suspect a return trip is now on the agenda.

It's a Cruzbike conversion bike Rob. Folds up neatly for travel yet a credible touring bike.

Thanks Rob. Yes, my wife and I enjoyed many a pleasant meal. In Thailand it's hard to go wrong.

Recumbent Bike Videos  -

On June 16 I embarked on a tour from Phuket to Hua Hin, Thailand. The ride took us along the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Hilly and rainy, it wasn't as idyllic as hoped. Nonetheless, I was with great friends, and I didn't lose an ounce of weight.

Thanks Gary. Yeah, last year I lived on Hammer Perpetuem. This year my riding buddies insisted on eating real food. Imagine!

As per Gary's request, a little about me. I'm not a brand new member but haven't been formally introduced.

I ride a self-built Cruzbike conversion. It folds and fits in a suitcase. I have CVT on the wheel and the movable BB, so no gears/sprockets. Despite it's diminutive size, it's a very capable bicycle. I live and work in Kuala Lumpur where I'm challenged with steep hills, gnarly traffic and very bicycle un-friendly streets. On long weekends I pack it up to northern Thailand where riding is far more pleasant. Last year I rode the little guy from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. In about a month I'll be riding from Phuket to Bangkok.

I've been a recumbent rider for 15 years and doubt I'll consider any other way to ride.

I haven't weighed it recently, but it's heavy. The Nuvinci hub, the PM and the kit add a lot of weight. I'm guessing 15-16kg. I know it doesn't look it...

Rob, my trailer was also stored in a plastic tub, placed in my attic. We have two, but haven't used them in many years, so I decided to bring one here. I guess it's here to stay now. It will surely be a novelty in Thailand once I get it there.
