Received this in the mail today! Thank you SAMLA and UCT Law@Work for an exceptional course. I highly recommend the Foundations of Medico-Legal Practice short course to anyone working in the medico-legal field.

Excited to tackle Level II’s practical training in 2019.

Day 5: Me before you by Jojo Moyes

I love escaping into a mushy novel. This one had me bawling my eyes out!

Day 4: Working with brain injury: A primer for psychologists working in under-resourced settings by Rudi Coetzer & Ross Balchin

The human brain and the manner in which it regulates our behaviour has always intrigued me, but accessible and understandable texts on this topic are hard to find.

This one is a gem from cover to cover and as an added bonus, it’s a South African text!

Day 3: Emotional Agility by Susan David.

I have quite the therapy crush on Susan David for two reasons:

1. She’s South African born and bred with a powerful TedTalk that went viral! What an inspiration to dream big!
2. She’s spent over 20 years studying human emotions and why these are actually crucial messengers rather than something to be avoided.

Day 2: Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning.

This is the first psychology book I ever read and it had a deep and meaningful impact on my life teaching me that meaning os something I greatly value.

Throughout my life, I’ve read it a few times and love it as much as I did the first time I read it.

It’s also the book I’ve lost the most copies of because I keep loaning it to someone and forgetting who I loaned it to.

My friend and colleague, Tebogo Mothoa, recently tagged me in a Facebook challenge to to post the cover of over 10 books that I have loved over the next 10 days,no explanation,no review, just the cover.

Since she knows how much I love a good read, she knew I would not be able to resist the challenge! Unfortunately, I’m also a rebel at heart, so I won’t be able to stick to the no review, no explanation rule.

Here goes day 1 - This is what I’m currently reading: First, we make the beast beautiful by Sarah Wilson

If you’ve ever struggled with anxiety, as so many of us do in our current culture of more is more, this one’s for you!
