At this point in the series, the show was still on track for an awesome ending. Too bad it didn't happen.

One-on-one interview in which jazz musician Pat Metheny describes his style of writing and playing, his musical tastes, what criteria he uses for selecting songs for touring, etc. He also shares his observations about the audience phenomenon that occurs when the song "The First Circle" is played during tours.

Recording was made around the time of the "Speaking of Now" release, i.e., 2002. I was present for that tour's opening date--which lasted nearly four hours!

Interviewer: Mark Jeffrey
Director: David Koch

Video was originally posted on the Microsoft Windows Media website. Sorry for the low resolution.

So glad things worked out for this nurse and for her Cavvy.
When Dallas nurse Nina Pham left hospital after treatment for Ebola last week, all she wanted to do was hug her dog.

Over the last few days, I've noticed the Hangouts icon missing from the desktop of my Windows 7 PC. When I display the Chrome Extensions page I'm greeted with the following warning. I've been clicking the Reload link but it only temporarily fixes the issue. Any idea what's causing it?

I'm having an ongoing problem with Moto Assist on my 2013 Moto X: Events on my secondary Gmail calendar do not cause the phone to mute--even though the calendar is selected. (The device does mute for events on my primary Gmail calendar.) Worse, I have another secondary Gmail calendar that doesn't even appear in Assist's selection list. I've contacted Motorola many times about this issue but they are unresponsive.

Can anyone who has events on a secondary Gmail calendar confirm their experience with Assist?

Great Pat Metheny Group mini-concert (with bassist Charlie Haden, at the end), as seen on a Season 2 episode of Sessions at West 54th. Originally broadcast on July 25, 1998.

I can appreciate what you're saying about preferring Ambient Display over the Moto X's Moto Display. It will be interesting to see what happens when Lollipop is released for the Moto X. Ambient Display and the X's hand gesture feature would make a powerful combination.

My photos are automatically backed up to Google Drive -- so I find the Moto Gallery app to be redundant and confusing due to it not showing my pictures from other sources. Am I the only one who feels this way? Although Moto Gallery seems like a nice app, what am I missing by not using it?

+Chris Waters I've recently realized that there are something's us old android users have got used to and just expect. One is that contacts is stored in gmail. Since the first androids didn't have all this cloud stuff it was the solution. As the backup kept growing we now have drive, which is where one would expect backups go. Backup of contacts, back up of photos, really, I would almost expect my phone to backup like the drive folder on my PC does.
Instead we get this confusing and hard to explain backup where photos go to g+, contacts go to gmail, nothing "syncs" automatically to drive but you can store stuff there.
Since its all the same storage space and typically Google works with flat file systems, it should be easy to change this, and hopefully they will soon.

Again, most annoying is to take a picture on phone, assume you can post it to say, eBay or your blog straight from drive on your chromebook justvto find its only on g+ and you have to download it then upload it and 15 minutes later you finished what should be a 2 minute thing.

I installed the updated Hangouts app on my Moto X perhaps a month ago. I enabled Settings > Incoming phone calls. All was well.

For the past few days, when calls are made to my Google Voice number the Google Voice app appears for a second and then the Hangouts app appears. If I answer the call within Hangouts, I still hear Google Voice ringing (and, eventually, answering) in the background.

From what I understand, we can't yet uninstall Google Voice from our devices.

I'd like to use Hangouts exclusively, for both incoming and outgoing calls...but I can't find a way to prevent Google Voice from appearing for incoming calls. Any ideas?
