This was the building where Kodak made the acetate base for it's film stocks.

Film.... I think I remember that stuff!

Not sure why +Thomas Hawk used "piece" instead of "peace". There is the idiom, "give someone a piece of one's mind" which generally means to bawl someone out or to tell someone off.  But generally a device that warns you that something is missing or left behind gives "peace of mind". The device in interesting but why no Android platform app for another 6 months? Also they don't take American Express as a form of payment which is what I use 99% of the time.
I just installed an ANKR in my camera bag. Over the past 10 years I've had this reoccurring dream about my camera gear and my backpack being stolen. I've actually had two cameras stolen over the years unfortunately. When you use your camera every day like I do, it's a hazard to have to deal with ...

A day at the beach in Galveston. Yes, it was hot and sweaty and salty but the kids had fun!

Life is full of surprises sometimes. My wife, Sarah seems to have had a stroke last night. Not what I expected at all. Thanks to our wonderful family support and we will pull through. My wife, Sarah is the best thing that ever happened to me. These things that happen in the course of our lives are troubling at times but we must work through them. One of my grand daughters today gave me a hug and whispered, "don't worry, everything will be OK."

I believe that. Please keep us in your best thoughts.

I love this picture of her but she doesn't but I will post it anyway.

I love walking around London after a snowfall.  This was taken in front of Buckingham Palace one early morning when cars were not even on the roads. Post processed in Adobe LR and On1 Perfect Photo Suite 9.

She looks a bit cold with the snow collecting on her body.

Please give best wishes to your mother and father! We don't talk enough via phone but it's like they live on Pluto sometimes! Love to all and happy Ghost Month (just 2 months away).

Sometimes she gives me very nice poses. A day at the beach in Galveston with my granddaughter, Sarah. Taken with a Canon M and Canon EOS-M 55-200mm lens. It was hot and salty and very sandy. But the kids all had fun.

So glad the Texas Monsoons seem to have subsided! Now maybe with a bit of sunshine we can bet back to spring and the start of summertime.  My rain gauge has had over 16 inches of rain in the past 30 day!

I'd rather be taking pictures!
Introduction
Photographer, chef, wine collector, woodworker, auto mechanic, traveler, husband, father and grand father.

I spent 30 years taking pictures for a living, some very fun times and some rather boring ones depending on the client or the subject matter. I am now focusing on what I want to photograph; nature, landscapes, travel, family and such and not so much on what an art director or client tells me they want. The pay sucks but I'm having more fun and I have way better equipment then when I had my studio!

I finally have my own woodworking shop to satisfy my urge to play in sawdust and so far I still have all my fingers. I enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends and sharing a good glass of wine as well!
Bragging rights
My lovely wife, 8 children, 14 grandchildren, food in the pantry and a roof over my head!
