Here's my latest email newsletter on what's new in digital and social media. You can subscribe at the bottom of the page.
Twitter launched a big redesign to it's mobile apps that makes direct messages more prominent (access them from the bottom of any screen) and allows you to add photos to direct messages. Clearly Twitter is trying to get a bigger piece of the "private messaging" pie. AND.

Need a favor... Please click through some of my students' websites from this semester. They have to analyze the traffic their site receives, so the more visitors the merrier.

It's also fun to see if they can figure out why they got so much traffic on one day, so play along!

Step up your Facebook live video game.
For as little as $25, you can make a huge improvement in the quality and watchability of your Facebook live videos.

The Google Zeitgeist is here! The Google Zeitgeist is here! Find out what the world searched for in 2013. (It totally had to be Miley, right.) Facebook has added auto-play video (without sound, thankfully) and auto-play video ads aren't far behind. Twitter is working on an edit feature for ...

The case for sharing content more than once.
Reposting the same content on social media can be quite a controversial topic. Some people don’t like it at all, while others advocate it strongly. For Buffer’s social media accounts, we regularly do this. We found this to work surprisingly well and thought it might be interesting to explore the topic in a more analytical [...]

Are you an Instagram user? Of course you are. Here are some apps to get more out of the photo/video sharing app. http://chrissniderdesign.com/blog/2013/11/17/apps-or-instagram/

After 30+ minutes and no breakfast, we finally asked someone what was the hold-up. Turns out the new server never put in our order. I assumed they'd comp our meal after that, or at least give us 50 percent off. Nope. Server said the best she could do was not charge for drinks. Good food, but poor customer service.

Took my four-year-old son here for an eye exam. They're great with kids. Even had toys in the waiting room to play with.

Called him on a Saturday morning. He came out right away and fixed two broken springs on my garage door. Great service.

I've always had exceptional service from Kohles & Bach. The first time I called them was to get a quote on a furnace replacement. Instead of giving me a quote, the technician got the furnace running again. When it finally was time to buy a furnace, they gave me the best deal by far.
