4th May
In another wonderful "Today I Learned...", Google's front page highlights the birthday of the inventor of the piano,  Bartolomeo Cristofori , in a charming little Google Doodle.  It's amazing to think that the piano is nearly 400 years old and continues to ...

Great review of a fantastic synth!
unbelievable that it is nearly the same sound architecture as in the seventies!

Party in the park - Lovebox weekender lineup announced!
Looks like a great lineup, especially with Rudimental returning for the Friday after they smashed it silly a couple of years ago. From the press release: "Across the entire weekend, the Lovebox masses will be treated to an exclusive set from Despacio, the i...

Bleecker Street Burger / Spitalfields
Who are they? Bleecker Street are a well-known sight
in London's food markets, with their shiny can gracing many an inner
city street market with their boisterous presence. I first ran into
them at a market in the O2 / millennium dome and ever since have ma...

NAMM 2015: New Korg gear
A little late out of the running, but worth talking about nonetheless.  Meanwhile in camp Korg, the other major Japanese synth maker still seems to be powering ahead
with their own ideas and released a number of new hardware units at
NAMM this year. Nothing...

I'm happy, honest!

Equally happy with a burger or a games controller in my hands, I'm a London-based amateur musician and blogger, when I'm not doing events marketing. I'm a friendly sort, so say hello!

Excellent table service, a Michelin-star menu and a lovely meal to boot. Something that you perhaps wouldn't have every day - a guilty pleasure or special treat to commemorate a birthday. And to clarify: Boulud's burgers rightly deserve their status on the top 5 best burgers in London.

I definitely get the impression that Sticky Fingers is what Hard Rock Cafe used to be in its heyday - a nice little bar / restaurant around a rock and roll theme with decent food at a reasonable price. Decent service, a tasty burger and enough other options on the menu that would be worth going back to and this is clear winner over other pretend Amero-diners

Don't let the liberal use of the word "organic" and over-the-top descriptions of the individual ingredients on the menu fool you, Pono Burger know what they are doing when it comes to hamburgers. The one I had was great, especially with the lovely individual, homemade touches, and I could have quite happily gone back to try one of the other options for a completely contrasting flavour. Add quick service and a reasonable price makes this place a no-brainer if you happen to be in town.

Triple cooked chips in beef dripping? Check! Over-the-top double patty burger with all the timmings? Check! A taste as big as it looks? Check! An excellent little pop up with some neat little touches to classic burgers and chips, perfect for a sit down or takeaway. Only a stone's throw from Shoreditch overground station, so a good stop on a Friday night before hitting the clubs, take advantage of the sun and bring some friends for this one.

Novelty value notwithstanding, the food and burger challenge at The Yacht is on par if not slightly worse that your basic pub fare, though if the meal I had was anything to go by what they lack in quality they make up for in quantity.

Top stuff from The Lord Tredegar, with plenty of excellent pub food done properly to soak up a craft beer (or three). Who says you can't have quantity AND quality?

The London Wall Bar and Kitchen is an unassuming little bar and gastro pub nestled in the Barbican high walk opposite the Museum of London and my local for a pint after work. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but so is the rest of London, though at the least you do get a good lunch and evening menu whether it's a club sandwich, burger, fish and chips and so on. Recently there's even been a proper pizza oven installed, though I've yet to try it out. Worth a look if you want somewhere different for drink or bite to eat and you are in the area - don't let the location put you off.
